خمول النفس أبقى للنفوس

وأبعد من مقارنة النحوس

The soul's indifference remains for souls

And is farther than the comparison of misfortunes

إذا نزل العدوّ بدار قوم

فليس بطالبٍ غيرَ الرؤوس

If an enemy descends upon the house of a people

Then he seeks nothing but heads
