ضعفت وقدما كنت جهلا ممارسا

على عزماتي ف الخطوب هجوم

I faltered though once so ignorant and bold

Assailing my resolves when faced with woes

زمانة رجل أقعدتني عن السُرى

وشيب وفقر إن ذا لعظيم

Age made me sit instead of standing tall

Gray hair and poverty are burdens gross

وكل ممر أحكم القين فتله

تغادره الأيام وهو رميم

Each mountain pass I tried to traverse

Got harder as time slowly by me goes
