بعيان النظر الثابت

عن كشف الستور

With insight's constant vision

Unveiling all curtains of derision

لرأوا ما استكثروا من

ملكهم غير كثير

They'd see their reign, they so vaunt

Is really no significance or want

ورأوا أن فقيرا

صاحب المال الكثير

And see a pauper, with his simple attire

Owning all wealth he may desire

ورأوا أن غنيّا

في غدٍ كل فقير

And see a rich man, brought to nothing

The next day, all fortunes stripping

ورأوا ما خرجوا منه

إلى دار الغرور

And see the home which they departed

To the abode of vanity's broken-hearted

ورأوا مصدر أروا

حهم قبل النشور

And see the source of joys they tasted

Before the resurrection, unveiled, laid wasted

ورأوا آثار تكرا

ر تصاريف الدهور

And see the traces of ages cycling

In matters, carefully entwining

بأمور محكمات

حاريات في امور

Evident, damning affairs

In clearly writ lines, as prayers

موبقات واضحات

مثبتات كالسطور

Passing, returning themes

In dusk and dawn's beams

غاديات رائحات

في مساء وبكور
