قيل لي ما لديك للعيد شيء

لا طعام ولا لباس جديد

They said to me, "Do you have anything for the feast?

No food or new clothing?"

قلت لا تكثروا عليّ فإني

قائل ما على مقالي مزيد

I said, "Do not overburden me, for I

Have no more to say in my words.

كلّ يوم أكون فيه معافي

لي قوت فذلك اليوم عيد

Every day I am granted wellbeing

Is a feast day if I have sustenance."
