When an old man falls for a young girl, he has erred,

Choosing with his feet a path to evil desire.

As he loves her, so is his fate,

He who desires her profits nothing of high status.

And she refuses every discouraging companion,

Of bent frame, gray hair, hunchback.

The old man and the beauty are but like,

A gazelle beside a hyena of slanted shoulder.

If the beauty inclines in love to the old man,

It is not for love's recompense, but ordered desire.
