بصرت به والكلب يمشي أمامهُ

فلم أدر في التشبيه أيهما الكلب

I saw him walking with the dog ahead

So I couldn't tell in this image which was the dog

فتى يعجب الرائين زيا ومنظرا

وأيسر ما فيه النذالة والعجب

A lad pleasing to behold in garb and mien

Yet vanity and conceit his easiest parts to see
