كنت أشكو الجفا وأنتم قريب

صرت أشكو النوى وبعد المزار

I used to complain of separation, while you were near,

Now I complain of intention, with the distance of the pilgrimage site.

كلما اشتقت لم يكن لي دواء

غير مشيي تعلّلا في الديار

Whenever I longed, I had no remedy,

Other than strolling repeatedly in the abodes.
