  2. وكففت شرّك واقتصد

    وكان عفوك في ضمانك

    Curb thou thy harm, live thriftily,

    Let clemency secure thy coast.

  3. وصرفت وجهك عن عيو

    ب الناس مشتغلا بشانك

    From people's faults turn thou thy face,

    By thine own business be engrossed.

  4. أوطنت نفسك من عدوك

    أو صديقك في أمانك

    Make thy own self feel safe and sound

    From foeman's or friend's rule thou hast.
