في مرّها ولها يسرٌ وإعسار

Blessed be God for the days so disparate

In their passing, of ease and unease

عدل وجور وتفريق ومألفة

وقطع وصل ومكروه وإعذار

Justice and tyranny, unity and division

Severance and reconciliation, loathing and pardon

خير وشرذ وتأليف ومفترق

وقرب دار وإقرار وإنكار

Good and evil, harmony and discord

Kinship and estrangement, acceptance and denial

من غالب الدهر كان الدهر غالبه

قسراً واللدهر إحلاء وإمرار

He who overcomes time, time will overcome

Relentlessly, as time relents and flows on
