حَجَبتِ وَجهَكِ عَن عَينَيَّ مُذ زَمَنٍ

فَلَو مَنَنتِ عَلى عَينَيَّ بِالنَظَرِ

You veiled your face from my eyes long ago

If only you would grant my eyes a glance

حَتّى أَقولَ لِعَيني عِندَ نَظرَتِها

هذا جَزاءٌ لِطولِ الدَمعِ وَالسَهَرِ

So I may say to my eyes when they behold you

This is the reward for many tears and sleepless nights
