1. فَوزُ ماذا عَلَيكِ أَن تُؤنِسيني

    بِحِقابٍ أَو خاتَمٍ أَو وِشاحِ

    What gain is it to you that you cheer me

    With bracelets, rings, or scarves?

  2. إِن دَخَلتُ البُستانَ أَذكَرَني ري

    حَكِ ريحُ النَسرينِ وَالتُفّاحِ

    If I enter the garden, its breeze reminds me of you—

    The scent of jasmine and apple.

  3. أَحسُدُ الريحَ أَن تَمَسَّكِ دوني

    أَيَّ شَيءٍ أَغفَلتُ بَعدَ الرياحِ

    I envy the breeze that touches you without me.

    What more can I long for besides the winds?

  4. كُلُّ أَرضٍ حَلَلتِ فيها فَما يَح

    تاجُ سُكّانُها إِلى مِصباحِ

    Every land you dwell in needs no lamp—

    Its inhabitants gain light from your face.
