عَصَّبَت رَأسَها فَلَيتَ صُداعاً
قَد شَكَتهُ إِليَّ كانَ بِراسي
She tied her headscarf, if only it were a headache
That she had complained to me of, it would have been bearable
ثُمَّ لا تَشتَكي وَكانَ لَها الأَج
رُ وَكُنتُ السِقامَ عَنها أُقاسي
Then do not complain, though she deserves reward
While I was suffering illness from her
ذاكَ حَتّى يَقولَ لي مَن رَآني
هَكَذا يَفعَلُ المُحِبُّ المُواسي
Until someone who saw me would say
Thus does the loving comforter act
