للحُبِّ في قَلبِيَ أَشجَارُ
تُنبِتُها لِلشَّوقِ أَنهارُ
In my heart love has trees
Watered by rivers of yearning
وَالنَومُ قَد نَفَّرَهُ أَحوَرٌ
أَغَنُّ ساجي الطَرفِ سَحّارُ
Sleep frightened away by sorrows
I sing, eyed by a bewitching glance
وَالعَينُ قَد أَسعَدَني دَمعُها
تَمُدُّه مِن كَبِدي نارُ
Her tears have brought me joy
My liver feeds their fire
بِواكِفٍ يُغرِقُ إِنسانَها
سَحابُهُ بِالماءِ مِدرارُ
With ceaseless floods drenching her soul
Clouds pouring down heavy rain
