أَعيانِيَ الشادِنُ الرَبيبُ
أَكتُبُ أَشكو وَلا يُجيبُ
The spring rains revived me,
I write, I complain, but no response,
مِن أَينَ أَبغي دَواءَ ما بي
وَإِنَّما دائِيَ الطَبيبُ
From where can I find a cure for my ills,
When my ailment is the healer himself,
فَكَم إِلى كَم يَكونُ هَذا
يا أَيُّها الساحِرُ الخَلوبُ
How long will this last,
O charming sorcerer,
بِطَرفِهِ تُقسَمُ المَنايا
وَدَلِّهِ تَمرَضُ القُلوبُ
By his glances, lives are lost,
By his coquetry, hearts grow sick.
