I sleep, yet my heart is not sleeping from glory,
And my soul is obsessed with the heights.
And if a sickness keeps me from seeking them,
My striving to seek is still established.
It hurts my soul if I wish for comfort,
So noble manners make me push myself.
I stay up at night thinking without tasting,
While others in comfort are sleeping full.
My diligence calls me if I feel any laziness,
“Where, O servants, are those firm resolutions?”
So my hopes shake and my will strengthens,
And it reminds me of their past defeats.
