لَولا آصِراتُ بَني زُهَيرٍ

شَفَيتُ الأَصفَرَينِ مِنَ العُرامِ

Were it not for protecting the women of Bani Zuheir

I would have laid bare the two yellow ones with my sword

لَحُزتُ سَوادَها بِالسَيفِ حَتّى

تَفادى الكومُ عَن ذَكَرٍ حُسامِ

Until the heap avoided the mention of polished swords
