1. أَمّا كُلَيبُ بنُ يَربوعٍ فَإِنَّ لَها

    شَرَّ الرِفاقِ إِذا ما حُصِّلَ الرُفَقُ

    Kulayb son of Yarbu’ has the worst

    companions when companionship proves good.

  2. سودُ الوُجوهِ وَراءَ القَومِ مَجلِسُهُم

    كَأَنَّ قائِلَهُم في الناسِ مُستَرَقُ

    Their place of sitting behind the people is black-faced

    as though borrowed from among the people.

  3. البائِتونَ قَريباً دونَ أَهلِهِمِ

    وَلَو يَشاؤونَ آبوا الحَيَّ أَو طَرَقوا

    Those spending the night close by away from their families,

    though desiring, neither came to their loved ones nor knocked.
