We tied our rope to the sons of Shaʾīm,
We tied our rope for the sons of Shaiym
So glory and the banner became ours.
Thus glory and banner became ours
And ʿĀmir began to frequent Daws,
And Aamir became inhabited and accustomed to being trodden
As women visit a divorced woman.
As divorced women get accustomed to men
They circle around her, yet do her no good;
Wandering around her but availing nothing
And a tent may yet be pitched where love is lacking.
While tents may be pitched on barren land
