She drags the train of her dress

وتمشى مجمَّلة بالحلىّ

وقد تتجلى ذوات الخفر

Bedecked with jewelry

As spirits manifest

وتزهو بزينتها كالعروس

وأنت الخطيب الحبيب الأغر

She blossoms with her adornments like a bride

While you are the loving groom

وما زينت لك بين القلوب

أجل وأجمل مما ظهر

And none has adorned the hearts

More beautiful than what is apparent

وتبعث من ملحها حفنة

لعين الحسود إذا ما نظر

She sends a handful of her salt

For the envious eye that watches

تجلّى الصباح على أفقها

فألقى بغرّته وانتظر

Dawn manifested on her horizon

Casting its veil and waited

وبشرها بك خفق الريا

ح وبعد الرياح يكون المطر

And the throbbing of the wind brought her tidings of you

After the wind comes the rain

تهب على الريح من شوقها

كأن سليمان بالريف مر

She flies on the wind in her longing

As if Solomon passed through the countryside
