Your acceptance of the relationship assures me,

And your nearness, time cannot take away,

You left me, so I endured it for you, and you returned,

The ardency of love cannot be long,

You did not pretend to welcome me, but rather,

Went about it in the most beautiful way,

Whenever I sought a substitute for you,

I would reproach them - poor substitutes!

I preserved the affection - though affection does move on,

And few are those who cherish it,

I continued to protect my beliefs in love,

And an opinion I will not change, time-honored,

So my writings - your hands are the hands,

And my missives - your beauty is the beauty,

And my hope - as long as I can remember,

I will recall your face when my friend abandoned me,

And my fate - I am thankful, though from me,

There was forgetfulness for what has passed, so long,

And my time - and for the one praised, there thrives,

For you the finest virtues, and the most bountiful,

I see the paths to hope in him are many,

But the best of them is this way,

Whether your resolve strengthened or you turned away,

The farthest draws near, and the impossible complies,

And know that envy is an illness,

And that their cure is in saying:

The dwellings have been adorned and prepared,

So welcome, O most illustrious moon!

The eye desires to add more blackness,

For you dwell in its blackness,

We rushed, hearts leaping with joy,

And tears flow freely with good tidings,

So rejoice! Where all glory strives,

    And where bounty altogether inclines,

And we spread our whispering hands as though,

    Swayed by the guiding star,
