ليس لها في الحياة إلا

عبادة المال من وظيفه

She has nothing in life but

Worshiping money as her job

حتى لقد صارت حديث الحارة

وضحَك الجار وسخر الجاره

She's become the talk of the neighborhood

The laughingstock of neighbors and the mockery of friends

كلهمو يُحسدها بمالها

ويتمنى حاله كحالها

They all envy her money

And wish they were in her shoes

وهكذا الأنفس في ظلالها

Such are souls in their darkness
