The sweet Nile is al-Kawthar
And its green shore is Paradise
Watering the landscape and view
How beautiful is eternity and how green
The abundant holy sea
Quenching people and what they planted
It is the resource for what they wore
And blessed them with the bright cotton
He made benevolence a law for it
The valley was never devoid of pasture
You see one crop follow another
Flowing, though it has no neighbor
With deliberation and dignity in it
Pouring down masses collapsed
And foaming, as if it is growling
Brownish in color like its kin
From its source and its lake
Dyeing the two banks with its duskiness
With a color like musk and ambergris
