أنلني يدا خلقت للقبل

فمن نالها بالسماك اتصل

Grant me a hand created for kisses,

Whoever attains it is linked by its perfection.

أقبلها قبلة للجلال

وأخرى لنائلها المرتجل

Kiss it once for its majesty,

And again for its eloquent bestower.

تضاءل عن جودها حاتم

ونالت من الحمد مالم ينل

Hatim's generosity fades before it,

And it attained praise never attained before.

وكم في الجديد من الطيبات

وإن ضربوا بالقديم المثل

How many pleasing things does it renew

Though they cite the old as examples.

تُجدّد في الناس آى المسيح

تميت القنوط وتحيى الأمل

It renews the miracles of Christ among people,

Killing despair and reviving hope.

إذا منعت فضلها سابق

وإن منحت فضلها لم يزل

If it withholds its generosity from one who came before,

And if it bestows its generosity, it does not cease.

وطالع شاكرها المشترى

وطالع كافرها في زحل

Its thankful recipient rises fortunate,

And its ungrateful recipient rises in adversity.

علمت ويعلم من في الوجود

إذا قال مولاى قولا فعل

It knows, and all existence knows,

When my Master speaks a word, it becomes deed.

أخو عزمة وعده والوعيد

هما الرزق في سيره والأجل

Brother of resolve, his promise and threat

Are sustenance in their decree and term.

تمرّ الوعود كمرّ السحاب

ووعدك كالبحر يمشي المهل

Promises pass like the passing of clouds,

And your promise flows like a slow stream.

يعم العباد ويغشى البلاد

إذا الغيث في أرض قوم نزل

It sustains all people and covers all lands,

When rain descends upon a people's land.

ويارب ريث أفاد الجزيل

أذا ما أفاد اليسير العجِل

My Lord, delay the abundant

If the meager hastens to avail.

أمولاى إن تك أكرمتني

جميلك من قبلُ عند وصل

My Master, if you have honored me,

Your beauty from before at our union.

وفضل أبيك على كاهلي

وعن بر جدّك بي لا تسل

And the favor of your Father upon my shoulders,

Do not ask me about the righteousness of your venerable Grandfather.

وأنتم بناة العلى بالنوال

وآونة بالظُبَى والأسل

You are the builders of the heights through bounty,

And seasons for gazelles and lions.

أحاديثكم ملء سمع الزمان

إذا ما حديث الكرام أنتقل

Your words fill the hearing of time,

When the speech of the generous transitions.

طلعتم على الشرق كالنيرات

فزنتم سماواته من عطل

You rose over the east like the shining stars,

Adorning its heavens from being defunct.

هنيئا لك العيد والتهنئات

من العصر أملاكه والدول

Congratulations on your feast and felicitations

From the era, its kingdoms and states.

وعشت لأمثال أمثاله

إليك الهناء ومنك الجذل

And you have lived for the likes of your likes.

To you glad tidings and from you harvests.

خصيب الرحاب رهيب الجناب

إذا ما أمرتَ الزمان امتثل

Fertile of vastness, formidable of side,

When you command time, it obeys.

ويا لطَّف الله بالمسلمين

وكان لنا العون فيما نزل

And oh, Allah's gentleness with the Muslims!

And we had help in what befell.
