هِرَّتي جِدُّ أَليفَه

وَهيَ لِلبَيتِ حَليفَه

My cat is a true companion

And a loyal friend of the house

هِيَ ما لَم تَتَحَرَّك

دُميَةُ البَيتِ الظَريفَه

She is like a doll in the house

When still and not moving around

فَإِذا جَاءَت وَراحَت

زيدَ في البَيتِ وَصيفَه

But when she stirs and walks about

She adds life and fun in the house

شُغلُها الفارُ تُنَقّي الـ

ـرَفَّ مِنهُ وَالسَقيفَه

Her job is catching mice to clean

The shelves and attic of the house

وَتَقومُ الظُهرَ وَالعَصـ

ـرَ بِأَورادٍ شَريفَه

She prays dusk and dawn

With graceful rituals and moves

وَمِنَ الأَثوابِ لَم تَمـ

ـلِك سِوى فَروٍ قَطيفَه

Of clothes she owns only a fur coat

Whenever it gets dirty or infested

كُلَّما اِستَوسَخَ أَو آ

وى البَراغيثَ المُطيفَه

With roaming fleas and bugs

She washes and grooms it

غَسَلَتهُ وَكَوَتهُ

بِأَساليبَ لَطيفَه

With gentle care and tact

Mixing soap and water like dough

وَحَدَّت ما هُوَ كَالحَمّا

مِ وَالماءِ وَظيفَه

Making the soap and water smooth

Never stinking up eyes and nose

صَيَّرَت ريقَتَها الصا

بونَ وَالشارِبَ ليفَه

And accustomed to nice clean clothes

For clothes on a person bespeak

لا تَمُرَّنَّ عَلى العَينِ

وَلا بِالأَنفِ جيفَه

The character and taste, it shows

وَتَعَوَّد أَن تُلاقى

حَسَنَ الثَوبِ نَظيفَه

إِنَّما الثَوبُ عَلى الإِنـ

ـسانِ عُنوانُ الصَحيفَه
