1. خُلُقُ العُروبةِ أن تَجدَّ وتَدأبا

    وسَجِيَّةُ الإسلام أن يتغلّبا

    The trait of Arabness is to be steadfast and diligent

    And the nature of Islam is to prevail

  2. لا تِلكَ تَخفِضُ مِن جَناحَيْها ولا

    هذا يُريد سِوَى التفوُّقِ مطلبا

    The former does not lower its wings

    Nor does the latter desire anything but supremacy

  3. رَفَع النُّفوسَ عن الصَّغارِ وصَانَها

    عن أن تَخافَ عَدُوَّهُ أو ترهبا

    It raised souls above pettiness and protected them

    From fearing or dreading their enemy

  4. دينُ الفُتوَّةِ والمروءةِ ما طغتْ

    لُجَجُ المنايا حَوْلَهُ فَتَهيَّبا

    The religion of chivalry and manliness has not been eroded

    By the raging floods of death, so as to be intimidated

  5. المؤمنونَ على الحَوادثِ أُخوةٌ

    لا يعرفون سِوَى الكتابِ لهم أبا

    The faithful in ordeals are brothers

    Who recognize none but the Book as their father

  6. سَلْهُمْ عَلى شرَفِ الأُبُوَّةِ هَلْ رَعَوْا

    مَا سنَّ مِن أدب الحياةِ وأوجبا

    Ask them, by the honor of fatherhood, whether they observed

    What the ethics of life made obligatory and necessary

  7. بَيْتٌ تفرّقَ في البلاد وأُسرةٌ

    صَدَع الزّمانُ كِيانَها فتشعّبا

    A home dispersed in the countries and a family

    Whose entity was cracked by time, so it branched out

  8. وَهَنَ البِناءُ فَعاثَ في فَجواتِه

    عَادِي الفسادِ مُدَمِّراً ومُخَرِّبا

    And the building weakened, so havoc wreaked

    Its gaps, destroying and devastating

  9. لَبَّيْكَ يا وَطنَ الجهادِ ومرحباً

    لَبَّيْكَ مِن داعٍ أَهابَ وَثَوَّبا

    The seriousness of time and its course refused to let us play

    Who sees his blood as more honorable

  10. لَبَّيْكَ إذ بلغ البلاءُ وإذ أَبى

    جِدُّ الزمانِ وصَرفُه أن نلعبا

    Than to dye the rubbled earth of Palestine?

    I exalted when loyalty survived and did not survive

  11. مَنْ ذا يرى دَمَهُ أعزَّ مكانةً

    من أن يُخضِّبَ من فلسطينَ الرُّبَى

    In its land the trace of Al-Buraq or the cave

    I see the Ascension in His Majesty

  12. كَبَّرتُ حِينَ عفا الوفاءُ وما عفا

    في أرضِها أَثَرُ البُراقِ ولا خبا

    And I see the Prophet and his companions and procession

    A tortured homeland and an afflicted nation

  13. إنّي أرى المعراجَ عند جلالهِ

    وأرى النبيَّ وصحَبهُ والموكِبا

    Too proud for us to be stricken and defeated

    In our free hearts and in our bosoms

  14. وَطنٌ يُعذَّبُ في الجحيمِ وأُمَّةٌ

    أَعْزِزْ علينا أن تُصابَ وتُنكَبا

    Lie embers of its burning sorrows

    And we have enough pain to relieve it

  15. بقلوبنا الحَرَّي وفي أحشائِنا

    ما شبَّ من أشجانِها وتلهّبا

    And I see what we are bound to endure is harder and tougher

    We endure afflictions and clad ourselves in sorrow

  16. وبنا مِن الأَلمِ المبرِّحِ ما بها

    وأرى الذي نَلْقَى أشدَّ وأصعبا

    We herd our closest kin

    We know well that he who eats their flesh

  17. نَتَجرّعُ البلوَى ونَدَّرِعُ الأسَى

    نَرْعَى لإِخوتنا الذِّمامَ الأقربا

    Will wade in our blood to drink it

    They made the struggle for Arabism their livelihood

  18. إنّا لَنعلمُ أَنَّ آكِلَ لحمِهم

    سيخوضُ منّا في الدِّماءِ ليَشْربا

    And tended it so it became a good livelihood

    They irrigate what they planted with blood in fertile soil

  19. جعلوا الكِفاحَ عن العروبةِ حرثَهم

    وتعهدّوه فكان حرثاً طيّبا

    Without shedding blood it would become barren

    The house is elated by the moaning of their wounded

  20. يَسْقُون ما زَرَعُوا دماً في مُخصِبٍ

    لولا الدّمُ الجارِي لأَصبحَ مُجدِبا

    Have you ever seen such enchanting moaning in life?

    He who claimed that peace was his objective

  21. البيتُ يَطْرَبُ من أنينِ جَريحِهم

    أَرأيتَ في الدّنيا أنيناً مُطرِبا

    Made blood his path and vehicle

    If he has inundated the times and its people with

  22. إنّ الذي زعم السّلامَ مُرادَهُ

    جَعلَ الدّماءَ سَبيلَهُ والمركَبَا

    Lies, it is of his traits to lie

    He rode the winds to tame the strong

  23. إن كان قد غَمَر الزّمانَ وأهلَه

    كَذِباً فَمِن عاداتِه أن يكذبا

    Fierce, turning his fangs and claws

    The winds carried him while his heart panicked

  24. رَكِبَ الرّياحَ إلى القويِّ يَروضُه

    شَرِساً يُقلِّبُ نابه والمِخْلبا

    Seeking doom and a way out

    Have you seen him shedding copious tears

  25. طارت بِه وفؤادُه في رَوْعَةٍ

    يتلمَّسُ المَهْوَى ويبغِي المهربا

    That shame prevents likes of him from spilling

    Feigning sympathy for the weak as he sheds them

  26. أَرَأيتَ إذ سكب الدُّموعَ غزيرةً

    يأبى الحياء لِمثلِها أن يُسْكَبا

    When he is the one who left the weak tortured

    His prayers would be more sincere had he

  27. مُتصنِّعٌ باسْمِ الضّعيفِ يُريقُها

    وهو الذي ترك الضّعيفَ مُعذَّبا

    Pitied the innocent rather than coddle the guilty

    He raves about justice in his prayers

  28. ما كان أصدقَ نُسكَهُ لو أنَّهُ

    رَحِمَ البريء ولم يُحابِ المذنبا

    Have you seen justice blood stained?

    You messengers of Arabism, did you ask about its wound

  29. يهذي بِذكرِ العَدْلِ في صَلَواتِه

    أَرَأَيْتَ عَدْلاً بالدّماءِ مُخَضَّبا

    Why it persisted and what it led to?

    A wound whose era elapsed and whose

  30. رُسُلَ العروبةِ هل سأَلتُم جُرْحَها

    ما بَالُهُ اسْتَعْصَى وماذا أعقبا

    Mouths opened calling out to past sorrows

    You are the sorrow of the wound so make

  31. جُرْحٌ تقادَمَ عَهْدُه وتفتَّحتْ

    أفواهُهُ تدعو الأُساةَ الغُيَّبا

    What your elders’ healers tried its remedy

    He prescribed the cure for you and left you his knowledge

  32. أنتم أُساةُ الجُرحِ فاتَّخِذُوا له

    من طِبِّ شيخِ أُساتِكم ما جَرَّبا

    So where does he want from you he who refused?

    O people you are not weak so take the plunge

  33. وَصَفَ الدّواءَ لكم وخَلَّفَ عِلْمَهُ

    فيكم فأين يُريدُ منكم من أَبَى

    And claim your demands, hastening and determined

    Does the strength your faith gathered and rallied

  34. يا قومُ لستم بالضِّعافِ فغامِروا

    وخُذوا مطالِبَكُم سِراعاً وُثَّبا

    Not suffice you?

    O descendants of Yarab show me a Khaled

  35. أفما كفاكم قُوّةً من دينكم

    ما جَمَّعَ الإِيمانُ فيه وأَلَّبا

    Who charges at al-Khamis and prods it?

    Whoever among you so desires let him emulate him and say not

  36. يا آلَ يعربَ من يُريني خالداً

    يُزجِي الخميسَ ويستحثُّ المِقْنَبا

    The old is gone, it shall not go

    The secret remains and time renews

  37. من شَاءَ منكم فَلْيكُنْه ولا يَقُلْ

    ذهب القديمُ فإِنّه لن يذهبا

    And the sword has not lost its sharpness or blaze

    Restore the injustices against the sanctities of a nation

  38. السرُّ باقٍ والزّمانُ مُجدّدٌ

    والسّيفُ مافَقَدَ المضاءَ ولا نبا

    That returned the delusions of the ignorant disappointed

    Those who aspired to have the homelands of Arabism

  39. رُدُّوا المَظالِمَ عن محارِمِ أُمّةٍ

    رَدَّتْ ظُنونَ ذوي الجهالةِ خُيَّبا

    Sold or granted did not give it its due

  40. لم يُعْطِ أوطانَ العُروبةِ حَقَّها

    من كان يَطْمَعُ أن تُباعَ وتُوهَبا
