1. رُدُّوا بَني قَيْنُقاعَ الأمرَ إذ نزلا

    هيهاتَ هيهاتَ أمسى خَطبُكم جَللا

    Return O Bani Qainuqa the matter when it descended

    Alas, alas, your affairs have become serious

  2. نقضتُمُ العهدَ معقوداً على دَخَلٍ

    لعاقدٍ ما نَوى غشاً ولا دخلا

    You broke the covenant made on decayed ropes

    By a covenantor who intended no deceit or decay

  3. مازال شيطانُكم بالغيظِ يَقدحه

    بين الجوانِح حتّى شبَّ واشتعلا

    Your devil kept striking sparks of anger

    Among your innermost being until it was kindled and ignited

  4. هاجت وقائعُ بدرٍ من حَفيظتِكم

    ونَبّهتْ منكمُ الداءَ الذي غفلا

    The events of Badr were provoked by your rage

    And your dormant affliction was awakened by you

  5. أتنكرون على الإسلامِ بهجتَهُ

    والله أطلعه من نوره مثلا

    Do you deny Islam its joy?

    While God manifested it with an example of His light

  6. دِينُ الهدى يا بني التوراةِ يَشرعُه

    للناسِ مَن شرَع الأديانَ والمِلَلا

    The religion of guidance, O Children of the Torah, legislates it

    For people, by the One who legislated religions and faiths

  7. لا تدّعوا أنكم منها بِمُعتصَمٍ

    واقٍ ولا تطمعوا أن تُتركوا هَمَلا

    Do not claim you are protected by being in alliance

    Or hope you will be left neglected

  8. جاء النبيّين بالفرقانِ وراثُهم

    سُبحان من نقل الميراثَ فانتقلا

    The Prophet came with the Criterion, heir of the prophets

    Glory to Him who transmitted the inheritance and it was transmitted

  9. رأى النفوسَ بلا هادٍ فأرسله

    يَهدِي الشعوبَ ويشفي مِنهمُ العِلَلا

    He saw the souls without a guide, so He sent him

    To guide the nations and cure their ailments

  10. هلا سألتم أخاكم حين يَبعثُها

    هوجاءَ يعصفُ فيها الشرُّ ما فعلا

    Why did you not ask your brother when He sends souls

    Did he come sweeping evil away, what did he do?

  11. إنّ التي رامها في عزّها سَفهاً

    لَتُؤثِرُ الموتَ ممّا سامها بدلا

    She who insolently sought to violate her honor

    Would prefer death over the alternative she was offered

  12. لا يَبلغُ العِرضَ منها حين تمنعُه

    من خيفةِ العارِ حتى تبلغَ الأجلا

    No one can take her honor when she refuses

    Out of fear of disgrace, even if she meets her death

  13. وقد يكونُ لها من ربّها رَصَدٌ

    إذا رماهُ بِعَيْنَيْ غَاضبٍ جَفلا

    And her Lord may have destined for her

    To strike him with wrathful eyes so he recoils

  14. ما زال بالدّمِ حتّى ظلّ سافحهُ

    يجري على دمه مُسترسِلاً عَجِلا

    He did not stop shedding blood until its spiller

    Kept flowing with it hastily and impatiently

  15. ما غرّكم بقضاءِ اللهِ يُرسله

    على يَدَيْ بطلٍ أعظم به بطلا

    What deceived you about God’s decree sending him

    At the hands of a hero, thereby making heroes?

  16. لقد دعاكم إلى الحسنى فمال بكم

    من طائفِ الجهلِ داعٍ يُورثُ الخَبَلا

    He called you to goodness but you leaned

    Toward the company of ignorance, with an advocate bequeathing confusion

  17. قلتم رُويداً فإنّا لا يُصابُ لنا

    كُفؤٌ إذا ما التقى الجمعانِ فاقتتلا

    You said, wait, we will not be matched

    If the two groups meet and fight each other

  18. لسنا كقومك إذ يلقون مَهلكَهم

    على يديك وإذ يُعطونكَ النَّفلا

    We are not like your folk when they meet their death

    At your hands and when they give you an optional gift

  19. يا ويلكم حين ترتجّ الحصونُ بكم

    ترجو الأمانَ وتُبدي الخوفَ والوَجلا

    Woe to you when the fortresses tremble around you

    You seek safety and express fear and dread

  20. كم موئلٍ شامخِ العرنين يُعجبكم

    يَودُّ يومئذٍ لو أنّه وَأَلا

    How many lofty towering fortresses astonish you

    On that day, wishing they had crumbled

  21. أمسى عُبادةُ منكم نافضاً يدَهُ

    فانبتَّ من عهدِهِ ما كان مُتّصلا

    The worship of some of you discarded his alliance

    So his covenant peeled off from what had adhered

  22. نِعمَ الحليفُ غدرتم فانطوى حَنقاً

    يرجو الإله ويأبَى الزيغَ والزللا

    What a fine ally you betrayed, so he recoiled angrily

    Seeking God while refusing deviation and lapses

  23. ما كان كابن أُبيٍّ في جَهالته

    إذ راح شيطانُهُ يُرخِي له الطولا

    He was not like the son of Ubayy in his ignorance

    When his devil let down his rein of freedom

  24. مَضَى على الحلف يرعَى معشراً غُدُراً

    أهوِنْ بكم معشراً لو أنّه عقلا

    He broke his oath, pasturing a treacherous horde

    Deeming them more contemptible had they had intellect

  25. لا تذكروا الدمَ إنّ السيفَ مُنصلِتٌ

    في كفِّ أبيضَ يُدمِي البِيضَ والأسلا

    Do not mention blood, for the sword decides

    In the grip of a white hand that bloodies the white and brown

  26. وجانِبوا الحربَ إن الله خاذلُكم

    ولن تروا ناصراً يُرجَى لمن خَذلا

    And avoid war! God has forsaken you

    And you will not see a supporter to be hoped for when forsaken

  27. مشى الرسولُ وجندُ اللهِ يتبعُه

    من كلّ مِقدامةٍ يغشى الوغَى جَذِلا

    The Messenger walked and God's troops followed him

    From every steadfast one, overwhelming the tumult, fearless

  28. يهفو إلى الموتِ مُشتاقاً ويطلبُه

    بين الخميسَيْنِ لا نِكْساً ولا وَكَلا

    Yearning for death and seeking it

    Between the two Campaigns, neither falling short nor flagging

  29. لو غَيّبتْهُ المواضِي في سرائرِها

    ألقى بمهجته يرتادُ مُدَّخلا

    If the meadows concealed him in their bosoms

    He would search them out, entering through an entrance

  30. يُخال في غَمراتِ الرَوْعِ من مَرَحٍ

    لولا الرحيقُ المصفَّى شارباً ثَمِلا

    He imagines himself in the thick of fright from joy

    Had he not been a drinker made heavy by refined wine

  31. أهاب حمزةُ بالأبطالِ فانطلقوا

    وانسابَ مُنطلقاً يَهديهمُ السُّبلا

    Hamza inspired the heroes, so they rushed forth

    And he flowed forth, guiding them on the paths

  32. عَجِبتُ للقومِ طاروا عن مواقعهم

    ما ذاقَ هاربهُم سيفاً ولا رَجُلا

    I wonder at the folk, they fled their positions

    Their fleers did not taste a sword or a leg

  33. مَضَوْا سِراعاً إلى الآطامِ واجفةً

    يُخالُ أمنعُها من ضعفِه طَللا

    They went quickly to the sand dunes terrified

    Thinking their most inaccessible would protect them from their weakness

  34. طال الحصارُ وظلّ الحتفُ يرقبُهُم

    حَرّانَ يشجيه ألا ينقعَ الغُللا

    The siege was prolonged and death kept watching them

    Scorching hot, if only the locks had caught fire!

  35. أفنوْا من الزادِ والماعونِ ما ادّخروا

    واحتال أشياخُهم فاستنفدوا الحيلا

    They used up the provisions and supplies they had stored

    And their elders devised stratagems and exhausted their tricks

  36. مِن كل ذي سَغَبٍ لو قال واجدُه

    كُلْنِي ليعلمَ ما في نفسهِ أُكلا

    If everyone in need had said, "Relieve me!"

    To know what was inside him, he would have been relieved

  37. لا يملكون لأهليهم وأنفسهم

    إلا العذاب وإلا الظنَّ والأملا

    They cannot provide for their families and themselves

    Except with torment, doubt, and hope

  38. ظلّت وساوسُهم حيرى تجولُ بهم

    في مجهلٍ يتردَّى فيه من جَهِلا

    Their confusing thoughts bewildered them

    Roaming in ignorance into which the ignorant fall

  39. حتّى إذا بلغ المكروهُ غايتَه

    وهال كلَّ غويِّ الرأي ما حملا

    Until when the abhorred reached its extent

    And every misguided opinion carrier was horrified by what it bore

  40. تضرّعوا يسألون العفوَ مُقتدرِاً

    يجودُ بالعفو إن ذو قُدرةٍ بخلا

    They supplicated, asking the Forgiver for pardon

    He freely pardons, for the Omnipotent does not withhold

  41. أعطى النفوسَ حياةً من سماحته

    فكان أكرم من أعطى ومن بذلا

    He gave life to souls with His generosity

    So He was more generous than one who gave and spent

  42. لو شاء طاح بهم قتلاً فما ملكوا

    من بعد مَهلكهم قولاً ولا عملا

    If He willed, He could have made them all perish

    Then after their demise, they would have had no say or action

  43. ما الظنُّ بابن أُبيٍّ حين يسأله

    من الأناةِ وفضلِ الحِلمِ ما سألا

    What would the son of Ubayy think if he asked him

    Forbearance and the excellence of restraint he asked?

  44. أما رأوه جريحاً لو يُصادِفُه

    حِمامُه لم يجد من دونه حِوَلا

    Did they not see him wounded? If his pigeon

    Were to meet him, it would not find other than him to return to

  45. زالوا عن الدورِ والأموالِ وانكشفوا

    عن السلاح وراحوا خُضّعاً ذُلُلا

    They left their homes and wealth and were exposed

    Abandoning arms and going humbly, submissive

  46. هو الجلاءُ لقومٍ لا حُلومَ لهم

    ساؤوا مُقاماً وساؤوا بعدُ مُرتَحلا

    It is exile for a people without courage

    They fared badly settling, and fared badly after moving

  47. ساروا إلى أذرعاتٍ ينزلون بها

    نُكْداً مشائيمَ لا طابت لهم نُزُلا

    They went to the arms of Ezra, where they stayed

    Miserably, scorned people whose lodging did not please them

  48. بادوا بها وتساقَوْا في مصارعِهم

    سُوءَ العذابِ ومكروهَ الأذى نَهَلا

    They perished there and were scattered in their death sites

    Suffering the evil of torment and hated affliction

  49. يَلومُ بعضٌ على ما كان من سَفَهٍ

    بعضاً فمن يَقترِبْ يسمعْ لهم جَدلا

    Some blamed others for the ignorance that existed

    So whoever draws near can hear them arguing

  50. أهلُ المعاقلِ هدّتهم مُدمّرةٌ

    تَمضِي فلا معقلاً تُبقي ولا جبلا

    The destroyer leveled the citadels’ inhabitants

    Proceeding so neither citadel nor mountain remains

  51. رمى بها من رسولِ الله مُتّئِدٌ

    لا يأخذُ الناسَ حتى ينبذوا الرسلا

    Launched by the Messenger of God who destroys them

    Not leaving people until they discard the apostates

  52. هل دولةُ الحقّ إلا قُوةٌ غَلبْت

    فافتحْ بها الأرضَ أو فامسَحْ بها الدُّولا

    Is not the truth’s state power that conquered?

    So conquer the land with it or erase states with it
