يا بَعثَةَ الأَمَلِ المُخضَرِّ جانِبُهُ

يَحيا بها الراجِيانِ الشَعبُ وَالوَطَنُ

O mission of hopeful greenness whose side

The people and the nation live by

سيروا إِلى الأُفُقِ الغَربِيِّ عَن أُفُقٍ

أَنتُم أَهِلَّتُهُ تُجلى بِها المِحَنُ

Go to the western horizon beyond a horizon

You made it propitious, tribulations become clear through it

وَحَدِّثوا القَومَ أَنّا أُمَّةٌ عَرَفتَ

مَعنى الحَياةِ فَلا نَومٌ وَلا وَهَنُ

And tell the people that we are a nation who knew

The meaning of life, no sleepiness nor weakness

وَأَنَّكُم رُسُلُ الآباءِ موفَدَةٌ

كَيما يُرَدُّ تُراثٌ ثَمَّ مُرتَهَنُ

And that you are the messengers of the forefathers delegated

So that an impawned heritage may be restored

إِن يَفخَروا أَو يَقولوا أُمَّةٌ لَعِبَت

بِها الأَكُفُّ وَأَشقى جَدَّها الزَمَنُ

If they boast or say a nation that

Destiny played with, its ancestors were made miserable by time

فَذَكِّروهُم بِآثارٍ مُبارَكَةٍ

هاموا بِها في شَبابِ الدَهرِ وَاِفتُتِنوا

Then remind them of blessed vestiges

They were passionate about in the youth of time and were tried

عودوا إِلى مِصرَ بِالحَظِّ الرَغيبِ غَداً

تَنهَض جُدودُ رِجالٍ طالَما غُبِنوا

Return to Egypt with good fortune tomorrow

The ancestors of men who were long wronged will rise

رُدّوا عَلَيها حَياةَ المَجدِ غالِيَةً

فَقَد عَنَتها حَياةٌ ما لَها ثَمَنُ

Give it back the precious life of glory

That a lifeless life that has no price missed
