1. نادى الشَّبابَ فهبَّ من إغفائِهِ

    بَطَلٌ يَهُزُّ الجيلَ رَجعُ نِدائهِ

    You called upon the youth, so they awoke from their slumber

    A hero shaking the generation, his call returning

  2. حيٌّ على مَرِّ الدُّهور مُدَجَّجٌ

    تتساقطُ الأجيالُ حول لوائهِ

    Alive through the passing of ages, armored

    Generations fall around his banner

  3. تَفْنَى الوقائعُ وَهْوَ في مَرَحِ الصِّبَى

    جَذلانُ مُغتَبِطٌ بِطولِ بَقائهِ

    Events fade while he plays joyfully like a youth

    Eternally glad with his enduringness

  4. سَيفٌ أضاءَ الحقُّ مِلءَ فِرِنْدِهِ

    وتَأَلَّقَ الإيمانُ مِلءَ مَضائهِ

    A sword the truth lit up, the hilt filled with it

    And faith shone, filled with its glow

  5. نَظَر الكُماةُ فما رَأَوْا ذَا رَونقٍ

    في حُسْنِ رونقهِ وصِدقِ بَلائِهِ

    The cowards looked but saw no elegance

    In the elegance of his pose and the truth of his ordeal

  6. عَضْبٌ حَمَى عِرضَ الكنانةِ حَدُّهُ

    وَرَعى ذِمامَ الشَّرقِ في أبنائهِ

    Wrath that protected the honor of Egypt, its edge

    Tending to the reins of the East among its sons

  7. وَجَد المُغيرَ يَجولُ في أحشائها

    فَأَبَى القَرارَ وَجالَ في أحشائهِ

    He found the aggressor wandering in its belly

    So he refused settlement and wandered in its bowels

  8. اللهُ أَوْدَعَهُ حَمِيَّةَ رُسلهِ

    وأَمدَّهُ بالنّصرِ من خُلفائهِ

    God endowed him with the zeal of His messengers

    And aided him with victory from His caliphs

  9. أَوْفَى على الوادي فَكبَّرَ واحْتَفَى

    بالمُصطَفى المختارِ من زُعمائِهِ

    He fulfilled his duty in the valley and glorified

    The Chosen One from among its leaders

  10. النّافِثِ العَزَماتِ في أكنافِهِ

    والباعِثِ النَّهَضاتِ في أنحائهِ

    Who breathes determination into its folds

    And inspires renaissance in its parts

  11. المُستعانِ على العدوِّ إذا طَغَى

    المُستعين بِصبرِهِ وَإبائِهِ

    The one sought for aid against the enemy when he transgressed

    And sought help through his patience and refusal

  12. مَن لا يَرى أنّ الجهادَ مُروءةٌ

    حتّى يكونَ المرءُ من شُهدائِه

    One who does not see that jihad is chivalry

    Until one becomes a martyr among its martyrs

  13. مَن عَلَّمَ المِصريَّ حُبَّ بِلادهِ

    وأَقامَ من دَمِهِ مِثالَ وَفائِه

    One who taught the Egyptian love of his country

    And set an example with his blood of his loyalty

  14. مَن أَنكرَ اليأسَ المُذِلَّ وعَابَهُ

    لأَخِي الحياةِ فمدَّ حَبلَ رَجائِه

    One who denied humiliating despair and faulted it

    For the brother of life, extending his rope of hope

  15. ما قَالَ حِينَ صبا بلادي يَشتكي

    أَلَم الهَوَى ويَضِجُّ من بُرحَائهِ

    When his country complained, burdened with

    The pain of passion and boiling with its expanses

  16. لكنّها نَجوى المشوقِ وآيةٌ

    عُذريّةٌ من حُبّهِ وولائهِ

    But it is the whispering of longing and a sign

    Of excuse from his love and loyalty

  17. لم يَلْقَِ قَيْسٌ في هَوى ليلاه ما

    لاقَى ولا ابنُ خزامَ في عَفرائِهِ

    No Qais found in his love of Layla what

    He found, nor Ibn Khuzama in his looseness

  18. أدَّى الرّسالةَ والممالكُ هُتَّفٌ

    لِجَلالِ مَشهدهِ وَحُسْنِ أدائهِ

    He fulfilled the message while the kingdoms acclaimed

    The majesty of his scene and the beauty of his performance

  19. نُورٌ من الوحي المُباركِ ساطعٌ

    في أُمَّةٍ حَيْرَى وشعبٍ تائهِ

    A light from the blessed revelation shining

    Among a confused nation and wandering people

  20. ورسولُ حقٍّ ما اسْتَبدَّ به الهَوى

    يوماً ولا أعياهُ مُعضِلُ دائهِ

    A messenger of truth not corrupted by passion

    A day, nor overwhelmed by the complexity of his case

  21. يَرمِي بحكمتِه النُّفوسَ إذا الْتَوَتْ

    ورَمَى الغبيُّ بمكرهِ ودَهائِه

    He throws souls with his wisdom when they falter

    While the ignorant throw with their cunning and tricks

  22. يستنزل الخَصمَ العنيدَ على يدٍ

    تَتناولُ المرّيخَ من عَليائهِ

    He brings down the stubborn opponent with a hand

    That handles Mars despite its haughtiness

  23. أخذت كُرومَر فَاسْتبِيحَ ولم يَزَلْ

    يُسْقَى عُصارةَ بَغْيهِ وعَدائِه

    He seized Cromer so it was violated but he did not stop

    Watering the fruit of its aggression and enmity

  24. يَبغِي على الشَّعبِ الضّعيفِ بِأرضِه

    ويُغالِبُ الدّيانَ فَوقَ سَمائِه

    The justice of fate was fairer than its tyranny

    In Denshawai and the heinousness of its judgment

  25. ألقَى السِّلاحَ وَرَاحَ يَنعَقُ ماله

    جُندٌ سِوَى هَذَيانهِ وهُرائِه

    When he brought the oppressed the news,

    The doves harmonized after their weeping

  26. ذُعِرَتْ لِنكبتِه الجنودُ أعِزَّةً

    وتَفزّعَ الأُسطولُ في دأمائهِ

    O supporter of the weak, you slept but did not sleep

    The tormentor of this people over its weak

  27. عَدلُ القضاءِ أَدالَ مِن طُغيانهِ

    في دنشوايَ ومن أَثيمِ قضائِه

    Your time has passed, O slain by its worries

    So ask it, did its time pass from its ordeal?

  28. لمّا أتى المُسْتَضْعَفِينَ حَديثهُ

    أَلِفَ الحَمامُ السَّجعَ بعد بُكائِه

    Fate made it mischievous so weakened its bones

    And it overwhelmed it, so increased its burdens

  29. يا ناصرَ الضُّعفاءِ نِمتَ ولم يَنَمْ

    جَلّادُ هذا الشّعبِ عن ضُعفائِه

    It suffers bearing sickness, if not for the need

    Within itself, it would have ended its chaos

  30. وَلَّى زَمانُكَ يا صريعَ هُمومهِ

    فَاسألهُ هل وَلَّى زَمانُ عَنائِه

    When you went away, and you were the refuge of its affair,

    The hoped-for doctor went away for its healing

  31. الدّهرُ شاغَبَهُ فأوهنَ عَظمَهُ

    وطغَى عليهِ فَزادَ في أعبائِه

    Your successor trustees after you are present

    While one's refuge is to one's trustees

  32. يشقى بِحمل الدّاءِ لولا حاجةٌ

    في نفسِه لَقَضَى على حَوْبائهِ

    They made your passion a law and avoided

    Whoever deviated from you, lost in their passions

  33. لمّا ذهبتَ وكُنتَ مَرجعَ أمرهِ

    ذَهبَ الطّبيبُ المُرْتَجَى لِشفائِه

    They are the valley's ammunition for its day of peace

    And its equipment hoped for during its turbulence

  34. خُلفاؤُك الأمناءُ بعدك حُضَّرٌ

    والمرءُ مَرجعُه إلى أُمنائِهِ

    The youth were energized and it was said, oh Egypt arise

    And the path of truth appeared after its concealment

  35. جَعلوا هَواكَ شريعةً وتجنَّبوا

    من مَالَ عنكَ وضلَّ في أهوائهِ

    And if the youth passes away trying for a request

    It accomplishes the impossible and wanders in its lanes

  36. هُمْ عُدَّةُ الوادي ليومِ سلامِه

    وعَتادهُ المرجوُّ في هَيْجائِه

    This is your building, nothing erodes it

    Your Lord suffices as protector of its structure

  37. نَشطَ الشّبابُ وَقِيلَ يا مصرُ انْهضِي

    وبَدَا سَبيلُ الحقِّ بعد خَفَائِه

    The fortress of the cause arises, the valley on

    Its sides roams in its expanses

  38. وإذا الشّبابُ مَضَى يُحاوِلُ مَطلباً

    نَفذَ المحالَ وجَالَ في أثنائِه

    Say to those smiling, be gentle, and between their eyes

    A people thrown into the hell of their misery

  39. هذا بناؤُكَ مَالَهُ مِن هادمٍ

    وكفَى بِربِّك حافظاً لِبنائِه

    Do not mock the people in your weddings

    They are in their bereavements and in their losses

  40. حِصنُ القضيّةِ يَنهضُ الوادي على

    جَنَباتِهِ ويجولُ في أفيائِهِ

    The men knew life through you and saw

    What death covers beneath its sheets

  41. قُلْ لِلأُلىَ نَعِمُوا وبين عُيونهم

    شَعبٌ تَردَّى في جَحيم شقائِه

    And it became clear that humiliation is for one content

    With his time through his hypocrisy and pretense

  42. لا تسخروا بالشَّعبِ في أعراسِكم

    هو في مآتمِه وفي أَرزائِه

    No one dead while alive except a hypocrite

    Whose conscience is wrapped in its cloak

  43. عَرَفَ الرّجالُ بك الحياةَ وَأَبصَرُوا

    ماذا يُواري الموتُ تحتَ غِطائهِ

    The religion of politics and men levels

    You are the unique imam among its jurists

  44. وتَبيَّنُوا أنّ الهوانَ لِقانعٍ

    مِن دَهرهِ بِنفاقهِ وريائهِ

    What do kingdoms matter if their little demons

    Cast the usurper assassin without disgrace

  45. ما مَيِّتُ الأحياءِ غيرُ مُنافقٍ

    بَالي الضّميرِ مُكفَّنٍ بِردائهِ

    And most hostile of the country’s sons

    Is one who does not see the occupier as his enemy

  46. دينُ السياسةِ والرّجالُ مراتبٌ

    أَنتَ الإمامُ الفردُ مِن فُقَهائِه

    It is in its majesty the protector of its sons

    And resting place of those past of its fathers

  47. ما للممالكِ إن رَمَى عِزريلُها

    بالغاصبِ المغتالِ غيرُ جلائِه

    Is one who sells his country like one who defends it

    Keeping it from his sale and trade?

  48. وأشدُّ أبناءِ البِلادِ عَداوةً

    مَن لا يرى المحتلَّ مِن أعدائهِ

    The people of Egypt are not of a nature

    To abandon the loyal among its supporters

  49. هي في جلالتها حِمَى أبنائِه

    ومضاجعُ الماضين من آبائهِ

    Indeed, the arrogant have heard the report distorted

    They do not know the plain from its news

  50. أفَمَن يَبيعُ بلادَهُ كمجاهدٍ

    ينأى بها عن بَيْعهِ وشرائهِ

    We are not protectors of the Nile if they gain it

    Until the blood of men flows like its water

  51. شعبُ الكنانةِ ليس من أخلاقِه

    أن يخذلَ المُوفين من نُصرائهِ

  52. إنّ الأُلى سَمِعوا الحديث مُلفَّقاً

    جَهِلوا الصّريحَ المحضَ من أنبائهِ

  53. لسنا حُماةَ النّيلِ إن ظفروا بهِ

    حتّى يَسيلَ دَمُ الرجالِ كمائِهِ
