1. أقبلْ عليكَ من الشُّعوبِ سلامُ

    فَزعَ الصّليبُ إليكَ والإِسلامُ

    Peace upon you from all nations

    Christianity and Islam came rushing to you

  2. عيسَى يُناجِي فيكَ سيفَ مُحمّدِ

    والدَّمعُ سَيْلٌ والهمومُ رُكامُ

    Jesus speaks to you alongside Muhammad's sword

    Tears are a flood and sorrows a heap

  3. الأرضُ وَلْهَى والممالكُ رُجَّفٌ

    والنّاسُ حَربٌ والزّمانُ خِصامُ

    The earth is lost and kingdoms shaken

    People are at war and time in conflict

  4. دُنيا تموجُ بها الشُّرورُ وعالَمٌ

    تَطغَى على جَنَبَاتهِ الآثامُ

    A world churning with evil, a universe

    overflowing with sins on its sides

  5. لا الحِلُّ حِلٌّ في شرائعِ أهلهِ

    عند القضاءِ ولا الحرامُ حرامُ

    Neither solutions are solving among its people’s laws

    Nor prohibitions prohibiting with judgment

  6. عَبَثَ الفلاسفةُ الكِبارُ بأَمنهِ

    وجَنَى عليه السّادةُ الأعلامُ

    Great philosophers disturbed its security

    And the eminent chiefs did mischief

  7. أقْبِلْ كعهدكَ مُوقِظاً ومُنبِّهاً

    إنّ البصائرَ والعُقولَ نِيامُ

    Come as you did, awakening and alerting

    Minds and insights are asleep

  8. وانْشُرْ كِتَابكَ هادياً ومهذِّباً

    فالنّاسُ ضُلَّالٌ وأنتَ إمامُ

    Spread your book, guiding and educating

    People have gone astray, and you are the imam

  9. هذا كتابٌ للحياةِ مُفصَّلٌ

    وَضُحَتْ به الآياتُ والأحكامُ

    This is a detailed book of life

    Its signs and laws are clear

  10. مَضَتِ الدُّهورُ وما يزالُ كأنَّهُ

    بمكانِه ما فُضَّ عنه ختام

    Ages have passed, yet it remains

    As if its seal was never opened

  11. نَمتِ الممالكُ في ظلالِكَ واجتلتْ

    أُممُ الزّمانِ سَناكَ والأقوامُ

    Kingdoms took shade under you, and eras

    Were illuminated by your sun, as well as nations

  12. أَشْرَقْتَ والدُّنيا ضَلالٌ مُطبِقٌ

    والكونُ شرٌّ شاملٌ وظلامُ

    You rose while the world was covered in darkness

    And the universe was all evil and gloom

  13. وطلعتَ والحقُّ المبينُ مُشَرَّدٌ

    يَبغِي المُقامَ وأين منه مُقامُ

    You appeared while the clear truth was displaced

    Seeking refuge but finding none

  14. القتلُ يَطلبُهُ ويركُضُ خلفَهُ

    والسُّبلُ حَيْرَى والخُطوبُ جِسامُ

    Killing runs after it while paths are confused

    And calamities monstrous

  15. والجاهليّةُ في مظاهرِ عِزِّها

    ما ينقضِي صَلَفٌ لها وعُرامُ

    The days of ignorance in their pride

    Have endless conceit and pillars

  16. بَطلٌ تأهّبَ للجهادِ يُقيمُه

    ومَضَى فلا خَوَرٌ ولا اسْتِسلامُ

    A hero armed for jihad to perform it

    Yet he hesitated and did not surrender

  17. ما الظّنُ بالضّرغامِ سَارَ مُهاجِراً

    ضاق العرينُ فهاجرَ الضرغامُ

    What do you expect of the young wolf? He migrated

    When his den was too narrow, so the young wolf migrated

  18. يمشِي وصَاحِبَهُ وما من ثالثٍ

    إلا الإلهُ الواحدُ العلّامُ

    He walks with his companion; none other

    Except the One God, the All-Knowing

  19. لم تُلْهِه الدُّنيا ولم يلعبْ بهِ

    منها مَتاعٌ زائلٌ وحُطامُ

    The world did not distract him, nor did

    Its fleeting vanities play with him

  20. الدّينُ من دُنيا الهَوى وخَبالهِا

    للنّفسِ حِرزٌ مانعٌ وعِصامُ

    Religion protected his soul’s weakness

    A barrier, preventing him from forbidden

  21. ولقد يَنالُ الفردُ في إيمانهِ

    ما لا ينالُ الجيشُ وهو لُهامُ

    With faith alone, one person can attain

    What an attacking army cannot

  22. النفسُ ملءُ الدّهرِ أو هِيَ ذرةٌ

    مِمّا تُثيرُ وتنفُضُ الأقدامُ

    The soul fills time, or it's a speck

    Stirred and tossed under feet

  23. ما يستبينُ مكانُها فَتُرَى ولا

    هي بالتي يُعْنَى بها فَتُسامُ

    Its place indistinct, unseen

    Not what is focused on, to be named

  24. حَرَّرْتَ من رِقِّ الجهالةِ أنْفُساً

    لَبِثَتْ يُهانُ عَزيزُها ويُضامُ

    You freed souls from the shackles of ignorance

    Whose dignity was insulted and oppressed

  25. مِحَنُ الحياةِ على النُّفوسِ كثيرةٌ

    وأشدُّها الأهواءُ والأوهامُ

    Many are the tribulations upon souls

    The harshest being fantasies and passions

  26. يا مُنْقِذَ الضُّعفاءِ من آلامِهم

    أُمَمُ البسيطةِ كلُّها آلامُ

    O savior of the weak from their pain

    Small nations, all are pain

  27. جَرْحَى على جَرْحَى تَئِنُّ ألا يَدٌ

    تأسو الجِراحَ لَعلَّها تَلتامُ

    Wounded over wounded moaning, is there a hand

    That would dress wounds, perhaps to mend?

  28. هاتِ الرّسالةَ من يمين مُحمّدٍ

    إنّا نَسِينا الدِّينُ كيف يُقامُ

    Bring the message in Muhammad’s right hand

    We forgot religion, how to stand

  29. وإذا الحياةُ تنكَّرتْ أعلامُها

    فالدّينُ دُستورٌ لها ونظامُ

    When life disguises its flags

    Religion is its constitution and system

  30. إنّا جَهِلْناها وعندكَ عِلْمُها

    والجهلُ داءٌ للشُّعوب عُقامُ

    We are ignorant of it, and you know it

    Ignorance is a chronic disease of nations

  31. هو إن سألتَ أُولي المعارف ما اسمه

    سُلٌّ يُذيبُ حَياتها وجُذامُ

    If you asked the learned, what is its name?

    An illness dissolving their lives like mange

  32. زَاغَتْ بَصائرُنا فأصبحَ أمرُنا

    بِيَدِ الأُلىَ نَامَ الحُماةُ وقاموا

    Our sights went astray, so our matter was

    In the hands of fools, the protectors slept

  33. نَمضِي على هُونٍ بكلّ مَضَلَّةٍ

    حتّى كأنّا في البلادِ سَوامُ

    We walk in disgrace, as if we are among the dead

    Until it seems we are all dead among the nations

  34. والقومُ إن عَصَفتْ بهم أهواؤُهم

    هَفَتِ العقولُ وطاشتِ الأحلامُ

    When passions overwhelm a people

    Minds get lost and dreams scatter

  35. لا الجاهليّةُ إذ تَقادمَ عهدُها

    دَرَستْ معالِمُها ولا الأصنامُ

    Not even the days of ignorance when they passed

    Did their landmarks get erased, nor idols

  36. أَقْبِلْ على الدُّنيا بعهدٍ صالحٍ

    تحيا به الآمالُ وهي رِمامُ

    Come to the world with a good covenant

    So hopes can live, though it crumbles

  37. بالمسلمين وأنتَ من آمالهم

    ظَمَأٌ إليكَ مُبَرِّحٌ وأُوامُ

    To the Muslims, and you are of their hopes

    Thirsty for you, cheerful and keen

  38. هُمْ في المنابرِ ألسنٌ وجوانِحٌ

    وعلى المآذنِ أعيُنٌ أو هامُ

    They are tongues and limbs on pulpits

    And eyes or resolves on minarets

  39. نَظروكَ فازدلفوا تُهِلُّ شُعوبُهم

    فلكلِّ شعبٍ ضجّةٌ وزحامُ

    They looked to you so their nations rushed

    Each nation screaming and pushing

  40. أَوَ مَا لَمستَ صُدورَهم فعرفتَها

    ومن التّرائبِ والصُّدورِ ضرامُ

    Or did you touch their chests and know them

    Among the thorns and chests are wounds

  41. حَالَ الزَّمانُ ودارتِ الأيّامُ

    فَمضَى الجَبانُ وأحْجَمَ المِقدامُ

    Time changed and days rotated

    So the coward left and the valiant hesitated

  42. نامت سُيوفُ الفاتحينَ فَحازَها

    يَقِظُ الأسِنَّةِ والسُّيوفِ هُمامُ

    Conquerors’ swords are asleep, so rouse them

    The zealous tongues and swords’ determination

  43. لَهِجٌ بأخبارِ السّماءِ يَهيجُه

    عند الكواكبِ مَطلبٌ ومَرامُ

    Passion for news of heavens rousing him

    Seeking at stars purpose and ambition

  44. جَمعَ الأزمَّةَ للصّعابِ يقودها

    فلكلّ صعبٍ في يديهِ زِمامُ

    Gathering hardship for the tough, leading them

    For every tough his own reins to steer

  45. ولكلِّ شعبٍ إن توثّبَ أو مَضَى

    يبغي الفريسةَ مَصْرَعٌ وحِمامُ

    And for each nation, if provoked or marching

    Seeking prey, death and war

  46. يا أيّها العامُ الجديدُ وَرِثْتَها

    دُنيا وَرِثْنَاها ونحن كِرامُ

    O new year, you inherited it

    A world we inherited, and we are generous

  47. ثمّ انْطوتْ عنّا وزالَ نعيمُها

    فكأنّنا من بعدها أيتامُ

    Then it shunned us, its bliss passed

    As if we were orphans after it

  48. كم مات قبلكَ من وليدٍ وارثٍ

    وكذا تموتُ وتُولَدُ الأعوامُ

    How many newborns died before you inherited

    Just so do years die and get conceived

  49. بَشِّرْ شُعوبَ المسلمينَ بطائرٍ

    سَعْدٍ فما للنّحسِ منكَ ذمامُ

    Give good tidings to Muslim nations

    Of fortune, for you have no evil

  50. زالتْ عن الشّرقِ السُّعودُ فلم تَدُمْ

    أَيكونُ فيه للنُّحوسِ دَوامُ

    Darkness lifted from the East, not lasting

    Can misfortune last in it?

  51. اضربْ لنا مَثَلَ الجهادِ وسِرْ بنا

    نَغْشَى الوقائعَ فالحياةُ صِدامُ

    Cite for us the example of jihad, and narrate

    As we delve events, for life is clash

  52. هل أسلمَ الهادي الأمينُ قِيادَهُ

    أم كان منه النّقضُ والإِبرامُ

    Did the honest guided leader surrender leadership

    Or betray and break covenants?

  53. يبنِي ويهدِمُ جاهِداً ما مِثلُه

    في الدَّهرِ بنّاءٌ ولا هدّامُ

    He builds and destroys, a singular warrior

    Never a builder nor destroyer like him

  54. رَفعَ الحياةَ على أساسٍ صالحٍ

    والسّيفُ رُكنٌ والكتابُ دِعامُ

    He held life high on a sound credo

    The sword a pillar, the book a column

  55. أُحُدٌ وبَدْرٌ شاهِدانِ فما عَلى

    مَنْ يَسْفَحُ الدَّمَ في الحقوقِ مَلامُ

    Uhud and Badr bear witness, so no blame

    Upon one who sheds blood for rights

  56. هل جالَ في تلكَ المشاهدِ مُصحفٌ

    أم جال فيها مُصحفٌ وحُسامُ

    Did a Scripture roam those sights

    Or a Scripture and swords roam them?

  57. إنّا لَنلمحُ في جَبيِنكَ آيةً

    ممّا يَخطُّ الوحيُ والإلهامُ

    We see in your forehead a verse

    Of what revelation and inspiration relate

  58. تلك البِشارةُ إن تَغِبْ فَدليلُها

    هذا الهلالُ المُشرِقُ البسّامُ

    That good tiding, if absent, its proof is

    This bright, smiling crescent

  59. إن يُخلفِ الزّمنُ الكَنودُ فربّما

    وَفَتِ الجُدودُ وبَرّتِ الأقسامُ

    If time lets down the zealous, maybe

    The ancestors will fulfill and the destinies appeased

  60. إنّا أخذنا للحياةِ عَتادَها

    ومَضَتْ بنا هِمَمٌ تجيشُ عِظامُ

    We have armed ourselves for life

    Fervent determination shaking bones

  61. لا يأتمرْ مِنّا الرُّماةُ بِمَقْتَلٍ

    فَلَنا نِبالٌ مثلهم وسِهامُ

    Our archers do not obey calls to kill

    We have arrows like theirs and bows

  62. نسعى ونعملُ دائبينَ لقومنا

    نبغي التّمامَ وللأمورِ تمامُ

    We strive, working steadfastly for our people

    Seeking completeness, and things complete
