1. جَدِّدوا الذّكرى لأهلِ المشرقِ

    وصِفوا المجدَ لشعبٍ شيِّقِِ

    Renew the memory for the people of the East

    And describe the glory for an astute people

  2. يَعشَقُ المجدَ فإنْ لجّتْ بهِ

    لَوْعةُ الوَجدِ تَنحَّى يتَّقي

    Who love glory, so if the agony overwhelms

    The passion of fervor will recede cautiously

  3. عَلِّموهُ كيف يقضِي حَقَّهُ

    نابِهَ الموقفِ حُرَّ المَصدقِ

    Teach them how to fulfill their right

    With sincere stances, free honorable ones

  4. وأَرُوهُ السُّبْلَ ناراً ودماً

    مَن يَهَبْ فيها المنايا يُصعَقِ

    And show them the paths of fire and blood

    Those who perish in it will be shocked

  5. مزِّقوا الأوهامَ عنه إنّه

    لَيظُنُّ السُّبْلَ من إسْتَبرقِ

    Shatter the delusions about them, they

    Think the paths are of smooth silk

  6. لا وربّي ما لشعبٍ رازحٍ

    من سبيلٍ في الشُّعوبِ السُّبَّقِ

    No, by my Lord, there is no path for an oppressed people

    Among the preceded peoples, the elevated

  7. تلك أشلاءُ الضحايا عندها

    أصدقُ الأنباءِ للمُستوثقِ

    Those are the remains of the victims, near them

    The truest news for the confident

  8. في سبيلِ السُّؤدُدِ الصّافي دَمٌ

    لا يُصافي الدّمُ إن لم يُهرَقِ

    In the path of pure sacrifice, blood

    Blood is not pure unless shed

  9. هو في الإشراقِ كالنُّور الذي

    سالَ في بدرٍ ويومَ الخندقِ

    It is the dawn like the light that

    Poured on Badr and the day of Khandaq

  10. وهو في الطِّيبِ وفي الطُّهر معاً

    عَبَقُ الفِردوسِ للمُستنِشقِ

    And it is sincerity and purity together

    The fragrance of heaven for the smeller

  11. يا شهيدَ النّيلِ لو ناجيتَهُ

    لَشفاهُ منكَ عَذْبُ المنطقِ

    O martyr of the Nile, if you whispered to it

    Your speech would quench its eloquence

  12. شَاقهُ الصَّوتُ البعيدُ المُرتَمى

    والمقامُ الكِسْرَويُّ الرَّونَقِ

    Its distant resounding voice attracted it

    And the prestigious Egyptian abode

  13. وشَجاهُ أن يرى صَمْصَامهُ

    غيرَ وضّاحِ السَّنا في المأزِق

    And it was passionate to see its cleaver

    Other than the evident on the day of distress

  14. جاشَتِ الأحداثُ تَسْتَقْصِي المدى

    وَارتْمَتْ من كلِّ صَوْبٍ تلتقي

    The events have boiled to probe the extent

    And shot from every direction to meet

  15. فاقشعرَّتْ مِصرُ من أهوالِها

    وتمنَّتْ أنّها لم تُخْلقِ

    So Egypt shivered from its horrors

    And wished it was not created

  16. وأرى الشَّعبَ على أُرجوحةٍ

    تارةً تهوِي وأخرى ترتقي

    And I see the people on a swing

    Sometimes plummeting and other times rising

  17. سائلِ الأحزابَ ماذا عندها

    غير تَرجافٍ وهمٍّ مقلقِ

    Asking the parties what they have

    Other than confusion and disturbing illusion

  18. وتأمّلْ هل ترى اليومَ سِوَى

    دَولةٍ فوضى وحُكمٍ أخرقِ

    And contemplate, do you see today

    Other than a state of chaos and tattered rule?

  19. فات نِيرُونَ رجالٌ رُزِقوا

    من فنون الظُّلمِ ما لم يُرزقِ

    Nero and men endowed with

    Oppression arts not endowed to others have passed

  20. لو جرى فرعونُ أو هامانُه

    يتعاطى شأوَهم لم يَلْحَقِ

    If Pharaoh and his Haman practiced

    Their evil they would not catch up

  21. سجنوا الدُّستورَ طفلاً ناعماً

    واستبدّوا بالسّجين الموثَقِ

    They imprisoned the child constitution

    And took over the chained prisoner

  22. لا جرى النّيلُ على الوادي ولا

    بُوركَ الشَّعبُ إذا لم يُطلقِ

    The Nile did not flow in the valley, nor

    Were the people blessed if not released

  23. تلك ذكرى النيلِ للنّفسِ التي

    عَكَفَ النّيلُ عليها يستقي

    That is the memory of the Nile for the soul

    That the Nile hovered over to draw from

  24. وهي عَيْنٌ من حَياةٍ عَذبةٍ

    في يَفاعِ من سناءٍ مُشرقِ

    It is a spring of sweet life

    In the splendor of a radiant cheer

  25. لا يذوقُ الموتَ من يطعَمُها

    فَاصْبَحِ القومَ بها ثمَّ اغْبِقِ

    Death does not taste he who feeds from it

    So the people became immortal by it, then vanish

  26. واعْرِفِ الخُلدَ فإن أدركته

    فابتهِجْ منهُ بِمُلكٍ مُونِقِ

    And know immortality, if you realize it

    Then rejoice in an eternal possession

  27. والْبَسِ التَّاجَ رفيعاً يزدهي

    من ذوي التِّيجانِ أعلى مَفْرقِ

    And wear the high crown that shines

    Above the crowned, the highest dome

  28. إن تَحرَّيْتَ اللُّبابَ المُنتقَى

    فاجعلِ الأخلاقَ ممّا تنتقي

    If you sought the refined essence

    Make morals what you choose

  29. هي تيجانُ القويِّ المُزْدَهِي

    وَهْيَ أكفانُ الضّعيفِ المُرهَقِ

    They are the crowns of the strong, splendid

    And the shrouds of the weak, exhausted

  30. فَزِعَتْ مِصرُ إلى أبطالها

    فالبَسِ النَّقْعَ وسرْ في الفيلقِ

    So Egypt turned to its heroes

    Wear the armor and march in the brigade

  31. سائلِ القومَ أما من غضبةٍ

    لِذمامٍ صادقٍ أو مَوْثِقِ

    Ask the people, is it not from the anger

    Of a sincere bridle or pledge?

  32. لا أرى النّجدةَ إلا في الأُلى

    هُمْ أولو العهدِ الأبرِّ الأَصدقِ

    I see no salvation but in the family

    They are the people of the honest covenant

  33. ننصُرُ اللهَ ونحمِي أُمّةً

    نحن منها في الصَّميمِ المُعرقِ

    We support God and protect a nation

    We are its essence, the heated nucleus

  34. هِمَّةُ المِقدَامِ مِن آلائها

    وبَيانُ العبقريِّ المُفلِقِ

    The resolve of the brave is of its wonders

    And the eloquence of the genius splitter
