اذهبْ حُيَيُّ مُذمماً مشؤوما

أَحَشَدْتَ إلا جمعَكَ المهزوما

Go away ill-omened bringer of woes,

You have rallied only your defeated host,

إن تغضبوا لبني النضيرِ فإنّه

خَطبٌ يراه بنو أبيكَ عظيما

If they get angry for Bani Nadir's sake,

Your people see it as a grave misdeed,

القوّةُ انصدعت فكيف بكم إذا

ترك الهداةُ بناءكم مهدوما

Strength has cracked so how can you withstand,

When guides abandon your crumbling creed,

سرتم تحكّون الجراحَ ولا أرى

مثل الجراحِ إذا امتلأنَ سُموما

You keep talking of wounds but I don't see,

Wounds like those filled with deadly poison,

رحِّبْ أبا سُفيانَ إنّ لمثلهم

من مثلك الترحيبَ والتسليما

Welcome Abu Sufyan, for likes of them,

Welcome and peace is what you should offer,

جمع الهوى بعد التفرُّقِ بينكم

بئس الهوى يُصلِي النفوس جحيما

Reunite your passions after discord,

Evil are passions that scorch the souls like fire,

تُذكي سيوفُ اللَّهِ من أضغانكم

ناراً تُصيب من القلوب هشيما

Allah's swords will kindle from your spite,

Fire that turns the hearts to scattered debris,

ضُمُّوا القبائلَ واجمعوا أحزانكم

سترون بأس محمدٍ مضموما

Gather the tribes, pool all your sorrows,

Soon you'll see might of Muhammed massed,

قال ابنُ حربٍ لليهودِ مقالةً

لم تلقَ إلا فاسقاً وأثيما

Ibn Harb said to Jews a shocking word,

Only transgressors could utter such blasphemy,

إن كان حقَّاً ما زعمتم فاعبدوا

ما نحن نَعبدُ وانبذوا التحريما

If what you claim is true then worship,

What we worship and cease prohibitions,

خَرُّوا لآلهة ابن حربٍ سُجَّداً

لا ينكرونَ صنيعه المذموما

Bow to the gods of Ibn Harb in prostration,

They won't deny his conduct so perverse,

كُفرٌ على كُفرٍ رمُوا بركامه

والكفرُ أقبحُ ما يُرى مركوما

Blasphemy upon blasphemy, heap its rubble,

Blasphemy is the ugliest thing when gathered,

سُئِلُوا عن العلمِ القديمِ فزوَّروا

وأذى المزَوِّرِ أن يكونَ عليما

Asked about ancient knowledge they lied,

A liar's harm is that he claims to be learned,

قالوا شَهِدنا دينُكم خيرٌ لكم

من دينِ صاحِبكم وأصدقُ سيما

They said your faith is better for you,

Than your prophet's, its symbols truer,

خَفَّ الرجالُ إلى البَنيَّةِ إنهم

كانوا أخفَّ من اليهودِ حلوما

The men rushed foolishly to the treaty,

For they were greedier than the Jews for booty,

عقدوا لهم حِلفاً على أستارها

واللَّهُ يعقد أمره المحتوما

They tied a pact to its folds and Allah binds,

His ordained affair what He has determined,

هل ألصقوا الأكبادَ من سفه بها

أم ألصقوا إحَناً بها وكلوما

Did they join their livers in foolishness?

Or did they stitch together rancor and spite?

غطفانُ هُبِّي للكريهةِ واغنمي

من تمرِ خيبرَ حظَّكِ المقسوما

Ghatafan, let Harb's son have his wish,

And gain your destined share of Khaybar's dates,

كذب اليهودُ وخاب ظنُّكِ إنهم

لم يبلغوا أن يرزقوا المحروما

The Jews lied and failed your hopes, they

Will never attain provision they are deprived of,

لن يُطعموكِ سوى سيوفِ محمدٍ

وستعلمين ذُعافَها المطعوما

None will feed you but Muhammed's swords,

You will know their piercing blades are poisoned,

ما أكذَبَ الأحزابَ يوم تعاهدوا

أن لا يبالوا الصادقَ المعصوما

How the factions lied the day they vowed,

To disregard the truthful and innocent one,

جعلوا أبا سفيانَ صاحبَ أمرهم

كن يا ابن حربٍ قائداً وزعيما

They made Abu Sufyan head of their affair,

Be O Ibn Harb leader and chieftain,

كن كيف شِئتَ فلن ترى لك ناصراً

ما دمت للَّهِ العليِّ خصيما

Be whatever you wish but you'll find no victor,

As long as you stand opposed to Allah the Sublime,

جمعوا الجنودَ وجاء ركبُ خزاعةٍ

يُبدي الخفيَّ ويُظِهرُ المكتوما

They gathered soldiers and Khuza'a's riders came,

Exposing the hidden and revealing the concealed,

حمل الحديثَ إلى الرسولِ فزاده

بأساً وزاد المسلمينَ عزيما

They carried the news to the Messenger so he,

Became more determined and the Muslims more zealous,

نزلوا على الشورى بأمر نبيّهم

يبغي لأُمَّتهِ السبيلَ قويما

They encamped at Shura by order of their Prophet,

Seeking for his nation the straight path,

قال انظروا أَنُقِيمُ أم نمضي معاً

نلقى العدوَّ إذا أراد هجوما

He said, "Shall we move or stay together,

And face the enemy when he comes to attack?"

فأجابه سلمانُ نحفرُ خندقاً

كصنيعِ فارِسَ في الحروبِ قديما

Salman replied, "We will dig a trench,"

As Persians did in ancient wars,

حملوا المساحِيَ والمكاتِلَ ما بهم

أن يحملوها أنفُساً وجُسوما

They carried the tools and pickaxes though they,

Were souls and bodies bearing them for Allah,

هي عندهم للَّهِ أو هم عندها

خُدّامُهُ سبحانه مخدوما

To Him they belong and they belong to them,

His servants, Glory to Him the worshipped One,

دلفت قرومُ محمدٍ في شأنها

تلقى بِيَثْرِبَ من ذويه قروما

Muhammed's clans delved as was required,

Meeting their loved ones delving at Medina,

يسعى ويعمل بين عَيْنَي رَبِّهِ

طلقَ الجلالةِ بالهدى موسوما

He labors and acts under his Lord's eyes,

Blessed by Majesty guided on straight path,

دَأبَ الإمامُ فما ترى من رَائثٍ

إنّ الإمامَ يُصَرِّفُ المأموما

The Imam kept toiling not pausing for rest,

The Imam directs those who follow his lead,

حَمَلَ التُّرابَ فَظَلَّ يُثقِلُ ظَهرَهُ

ويُقَلقِلُ الأحشاءَ والحيزوما

He carried the soil till his back was burdened,

And his guts and flesh pained under the load,

وإذا رأيتَ خليفتيه رأيتَه

للَّهِ في ثوبيهما ملموما

And if you see his two successors you see them,

Embroidered by Allah on their robes,

ومضت بعمَّارٍ وزيدٍ هِمَّةٌ

لم تُبْقِ من هِمَمِ الجهادِ مروما

Ammar and Zaid bore zeal not found,

Among the zealous in feats of valor,

سلمانُ أحسنتَ الصَّنيعَ ونِلتَهُ

نَسباً مضى فقضى لك التقديما

You did well Salman and attained a lineage,

That passed and gave you precedence,

لمّا تنافَسَ فيك أعلامُ الهدى

حكم النَّبيُّ فأنصف المظلوما

When guides of faith competed over you,

The Prophet judged and favored the wronged,

سلمانُ منّا آلَ بيتِ محمدٍ

ولقد نُسبتَ فما نسبتَ زنيما

Salman, you are one of us Ahlulbayt,

You were attributed to us but not disgraced,

الدين يجمعُ ليس منّا من يرى

في أهله عَرَباً ويعرفُ روما

Religion unites, none of us sees,

Among its people Arabs or Romans,

والأكرمُ الأتقى تبارك ربُّنا

إنّا نطيعُ كتابه المرقوما

The best is the most righteous, Blessed is Our Lord,

We obey His recorded Book,

اللَّهُ مولاكم وأنتم شعبُهُ

لا تذكروا شعباً ولا إقليما

Allah is your Master and you are His people,

Do not mention people or homeland,

سلمانُ دعها كُدْيَةً تُوهِي القُوَى

وتردُّ كلَّ مُحدَّدٍ مثلوما

Salman let it go, it confuses the strong,

And every resolute man is pushed back,

اضربْ رسولَ اللهِ كم من صخرةٍ

لم تألُها صدعاً ولا تحطيما

Strike the Messenger of Allah, how many boulders,

You did not soften nor break into pieces,

من ليس يبلغُ من جبابرةِ القوى

ما أنت بالغه فليس ملوما

One who cannot reach tyrants of power,

Cannot be blamed for what he cannot grasp,

بَشِّرْ جُنودَكَ بالفتوحِ ثلاثةً

تدع العزيزَ من العروشِ مَضيما

Give your soldiers glad tidings of three conquests,

Leaving the mighty bereft of their thrones,

وصِفِ المدائنَ والقصورَ لمعشرٍ

مَثّلتها صُوراً لهم ورسوما

Describe the cities and palaces to a people,

Whose images you showed them in visions,

أبصرتَها في نُورِ ربّك ما رأت

عيناك آفاقاً لها وتخوما

You saw them in your Lord's Light not bounded,

By horizons or regions your eyes have seen,

ما زلت تُحدثُ كلَّ أمرٍ مُعجِزٍ

لولا النُّبوَّةُ لم يكن مفهوما

You keep speaking of every miraculous event,

If not for Prophethood it could not be comprehended,

جَهِلَ العجائِبَ مَعشرٌ لم يعرفوا

منهنَّ إلا السِّحرَ والتنويما

A group ignorant of miracles called it,

Only sorcery or hypnosis,

للَّهِ أسرارٌ تُرِيكَ جلاله

إن شاء فَضَّ كتابها المختوما

Allah has secrets that show His Grandeur,

If He wills the Book's seal He unfastens,

والعلمُ إن ضلَّ السَّبيلَ ولم يلد

ما يُرشِدُ الجهلاءَ كان عقيما

Knowledge if astray without guiding the ignorant,

Is fruitless if not leading them aright,

بلوى ذوي الأسقامِ أكثرها أذىً

بَلْوَى أخي عقلٍ تراه سقيما

Afflictions of the sick cause most harm,

Afflictions of a brother you see demented,

بلغ الطَّوى بالقومِ غايةَ جُهدهِ

وكأنّما طُعمُوا الصفايا الكوما

Exertion reached the limit for the people,

As if force-fed bitter aloes in plenty,

جيشٌ يصومُ على الدؤُوبِ ولم يكن

لولا أمانةُ ربِّهِ ليصوما

An army fasting with resolve never seen,

If not for their Lord's trust they'd not abstain,

مِن كلِّ مبتهلٍ يضجُّ مُكبِّراً

في الحربِ يدعو الواحد القيّوما

Every imploring worshipper exclaims "Allahu Akbar",

In war invoking the One Eternal Sovereign,

كانت فتاتُكَ يا ابنَ سعدٍ إذ أتت

غَوْثَاً وخيراً للغُزاةِ عميما

When your crumbs came O Ibn Saeed,

As aid and bounty for all the fighters,

جاءت ببعض التَّمرِ تُطعِمُ والداً

بَرّاً وخالاً في الرجالِ كريما

They came with some dates to feed a pious father,

And maternal uncle, generous among men,

ألقى عليه اللَّهُ من بركاتِهِ

فكفى برحمتِهِ وكان رحيما

Allah cast on them of His blessings,

His mercy sufficed and He is Merciful,

أخذ النبيُّ قَليلَهُ فدعا الطوى

داعي الرحيلِ وما يزالُ مقيما

The Prophet took the small amount and called all,

The Caller to depart though he remains,

جمع الجنودَ وقال هذا رزقُكم

فكلوا هنيئاً واشكروه نعيما

He gathered the soldiers and said this is your provision,

Eat well and thank the Bestower,

فرحوا بنعمةِ ربِّهم وتبدّلوا

حالاً تزيد الكافرين وجوما

They rejoiced in their Lord's grace and changed,

The situation increasing the unbelievers' gloom,

هذا الذي صنع الشُّوَيهَةَ قادمٌ

أحببْ بذلك مشهداً وقدوما

He who made the crumbs is coming,

Love that arrival and coming,

حيَّا النبيَّ وقال جِئْتُكَ داعياً

ولقد أراني في الرجالِ عديما

He greeted the Prophet saying I have come inviting,

Though among men I am the lowliest,

مالي رعاك اللَّهُ غير شُوَيهةٍ

لو زادها ربِّي بذلتُ جسيما

All I have, Allah watch over you, are crumbs,

If my Lord added, I would give bountifully,

أعددْتُها لك يا محمدُ مطعماً

يَشفيكَ من سَغَبٍ أراه أليما

I prepared them for you O Muhammad as food,

To heal you from the hunger I see painful,

يكفيك من ألم الطوى وعذابِهِ

حَجَرٌ يظلُّ على الحشا محزوما

It is enough for hunger's pain and torment,

A small rock shading over the pebbles,

سار الرسولُ بجندِهِ ومشى الذي

صَنَعَ الشويهَةَ حائراً مهموما

The Messenger went with his army while he,

Who made the crumbs walked worried and anxious,

يا ربِّ صاعٌ واحدٌ وشويهةٌ

دَبِّرْ وداوِ فقد دَعوتُ حكيما

O Lord a sa'a (measure) and crumbs,

Manage it, cure, for I called You the Wise,

وُضِعَ الطعامُ فَظَلَّ يُشْرِقُ وجهُهُ

بِشْراً وكان من الحياءِ كظيما

The food remained shining and his face,

Shone with good news, so silent in shyness,

وضع النبيُّ يديه فيه فزادهُ

ربٌّ يَزيد رسولَهُ تكريما

The Prophet put his hands in it and his Lord,

Increased for His Messenger in honor,

تلك الموائدُ لو يُقَالُ لها انظمى

شَمْلَ الشُّعوبِ رأيتَهُ منظوما

If those banquets are told to fill,

They bring nations together in harmony,

كَرَمٌ صميمٌ راح يُورِثُ جابراً

شرفاً يفوت الوارثين صميما

Sincere generosity that made J'abir inherit,

Nobility that escapes all inheritors,

والأشهليّةُ إذ يجيءُ رسولُها

يمشي بِجَفْنَتِها أغَرَّ وسيما

When their envoy walked with his bucket,

Walking proudly so handsome,

اللَّهُ علّمها مَناقِبَ دينهِ

فشفى الخبالَ وأحسن التعليما

Allah taught him the merits of His faith,

Curing the ignorant and excellent teaching,

لولا مَرَاشِدُهُ تُقَوِّمُ خَلْقَهُ

لم يعرفوا الإصلاحَ والتقويما

Without its guides reforming his nature,

He'd not recognize reform and correction,

نهض الحماةُ به ولو لم يهتدوا

لم يبرحوا في القاعدين جُثوما

The Protectors carried him though if not guided,

They'd remain sitting lazy and stagnant,
