1. أميطي الغيبَ وادّرعي الشُّهودا

    فمن نَفَحاتِ عهدِك أن يعودا

    Reveal to me the unseen and adorn me with witnesses

    So that the fragrances of your covenant may return

  2. وما بالسمهريِّ يغيبُ عيبٌ

    إذا سكنَ الجوانحَ والكُبودا

    How can blame disappear from Suhaymi

    When sorrows settle in the heart and anguish

  3. وهل بالسَّهمِ نُكرٌ حين يَمضي

    فيُؤثِرُ في مواقعهِ الرُّكودا

    Is an arrow unknown when it passes

    To leave its marks quiescent?

  4. لأَنتِ سلاحُ كلِّ فتىً أبيٍّ

    يَصولُ فيصرعُ البطلَ النَّجيدا

    You are the weapon of every obstinate hero

    Who rages and fells the staunch champion

  5. يَحيدُ عَنِ الكريهةِ كلُّ وانٍ

    وتَمنعهُ الحميَّةُ أن يحيدا

    Every weakling shies from the hated

    And his zeal prevents him from swerving

  6. حثيثُ الكرِّ يستبقُ المنايا

    إذا الفَرِقُ الهَيُوبُ مشَى الوئيدا

    The frequenter of war outstrips fate

    When the fearless squadron strides resolute

  7. تضيقُ به الوغَى ضرباً وطعناً

    ويعتنق الفوارسَ مُستزيدا

    The fray is too narrow for him, striking and stabbing

    And he hugs the horsemen seeking more

  8. وليدُ عَجاجةٍ وعقيدُ طاوٍ

    يَصيدُ عِنانُه الأجلَ الصَّيودا

    A scion of the rash and a leader of the valiant

    His rein snatches relentless death

  9. رِدي الغَمَراتِ ناراً أو ذُعافاً

    وذُودِي القومَ إذ كرهوا الوُرودا

    Repel the downpours with fire or clouds

    And protect the folk when they refuse to alight

  10. إذا ظَمِئَتْ نُفوسُهُمُ ارتوينا

    وروَّينا الأعنَّةَ والبُنودا

    When their souls thirst, let us water them

    And the structures and tents too

  11. مناهلُ تُنكِرُ الوُرّادَ إلا

    إذا شربوا الرَّدى عالين صيدا

    The springs disavow all but the drawers

    Unless they have drunk the pure draft high

  12. خُذي بِنُفوسنا إذ كلُّ نَفْسٍ

    تَظُنُّ الجُبنَ يُورِثُها الخُلودا

    Take our souls when each soul

    Thinks cowardice will grant it eternity

  13. نَجودُ بها إذا الأقوامُ ضَحُّوا

    بمصرَ ونيلِها كَرَماً وَجُودا

    We sacrifice them when the peoples vie

    With Egypt's bounty and munificence

  14. ونَنهضُ لِلجهادِ إذا تَولَّوْا

    وظَلُّوا في مَجاثِمهم قُعودا

    And rise up for the struggle when they

    Sit languidly in their large tents

  15. تهادوا بالحمايةِ في رِداءٍ

    يُريكَ بَياضُه الأحداثَ سودا

    They pretended to protect her in a gown

    Whose whiteness shows black events

  16. وزَفُّوها مُقنَّعةً فزفُّوا

    بها الأغلالَ شتَّى والقُيودا

    And handed her over veiled, so they handed over

    All sorts of chains and shackles

  17. لئن حَملَ الحِمايةَ جالِبُوها

    لقد حملوا المَنايا واللُّحودا

    Bearing protection, they carried

    Death and perdition

  18. هتكنا الحُجْبَ والأستارَ عنها

    ومزّقْنا المطارفَ والبُرودا

    We stripped the veils and screens from her

    And tore away the tents and curtains

  19. فتلك مخالبُ الأغوالِ فيها

    وأنيابُ الأُلى غلبوا الأسودا

    Therein are the talons of beasts

    And fangs of howlers who worsted the lions

  20. عَصَيْنا مِصرَ إن عَدَتِ العوادي

    فلم نَعْصِ الهَوادةَ والهُجودا

    We disobeyed Egypt if the highlands rebelled

    But did not disobey concord and generosity

  21. ولسنا صفوةَ الأعلامِ فيها

    إذا لم نَمنعِ العَلَم المجيدا

    We are not the elite of the flags therein

    If we do not forbid the sublime flag

  22. أَبيدِي الغدرَ واكْتسحي الجُحودا

    وزِيدِي جَدَّنا الأعلى صُعودا

    Destroy treachery and overcome spite

    And increase our highest ascent

  23. نُهِينُ الغاصِبينَ إذا اسْتبدُّوا

    ونَأبَى أن نكونَ لهم عبيدا

    We forbid the usurpers when they tyrannize

    And refuse to be their slaves

  24. ونَفْدِي مِصرَ بالمُهجاتِ تُزْجَى

    إذا زَجّوا الكتائب والجنودا

    We ransom Egypt with our lives poured out

    When they marshaled the regiments and armies

  25. حَفِظنا حُرمةَ الأبناءِ فيها

    وأكرمنا الأبوّةَ والجُدودا

    We preserved the sanctity of her children

    And honored fatherhood and ancestry

  26. بلادَ النّيلِ من يَجزيكِ شرّاً

    ومن يأبى لشعبكِ أن يسودا

    Who can harm you, O land of the Nile

    And refuse your people mastery?

  27. دعِي المُتهيِّبينَ ولا تخافيِ

    على اسْتقلالِك الخَصْمَ العنيدا

    Leave the cowards, fear not

    For your independence the stubborn foe

  28. إلينا إن نَقِمتِ الغَدرَ منهم

    وأنكرتِ التَّجهُّم والصُّدودا

    If you resent their treachery towards you

    And disavow their frowning and estrangement

  29. إلى أعلامكِ الشُمِّ الرّواسي

    إذا ما همَّ رُكنُكِ أن يميدا

    To your lofty pillars, if your pillar thought

    To lean

  30. هَبِي شرَفَ الحياةِ لنا فإِنّا

    مَنحناكِ المواهبَ والجهودا

    Grant us the nobility of life, for we

    Granted you gifts and exertions

  31. نَخُصُّكِ بالوَلاءِ المحضِ منّا

    ونُؤثرُ بالهَوى الشّعبَ الوَدودا

    We single you out with pure loyalty

    And give priority with love to the affectionate people

  32. فمن يَطلبْ من الأقوامِ عهداً

    فإنّ اللهَ قد أخذَ العهودا

    Whoever demands a pact from the peoples

    God has already taken pacts
