عَقربُ السُّوءِ تَمادَى في الأذى

والأذَى بَعضُ سجايا العقربِ

The scorpion of evil persists in harm

And harm is part of the scorpion's nature

وَيْكَ عبدَ اللهِ ماذا تَبتغِي

تَعِبَ الشَّرُّ ولمَّا تتعبِ

Oh servant of God, Abdullah, what do you seek?

Evil is tiring though it does not tire

اتَّئِبْ يا ابنَ أُبَيٍّ واجتنِبْ

خَطَلَ الرأيِ وَسُوءَ المذهبِ

Repent, O son of Ubayy, and avoid

Wrong opinion and evil doctrine

أنتَ أضللتَ الأُلَى أطْمَعْتَهم

من وصاياكَ ببرقٍ خُلَّبِ

You have misled the tribes, made them hopeful

With your misleading precepts and falsity

ليس فيما نَابهم من عجبٍ

خَائِبٌ طاحَ بقومٍ خُيَّبِ

There is no wonder in what has befallen them

A failure that struck a deceived people

قَومُكَ الأبطالُ ماذا صَنعوا

بِالحصونِ الشُّمِّ قُلْ لا تكذِبِ

Your heroes, what have they done

To the high and mighty castles, say do not lie

أتُراها في صَياصِيها العُلَى

دَافعتْ عن ياسرٍ أو مَرحبِ

Do you see them in their high keeps

Defending Yasser or Marhab?

امتلِئْ يا ابنَ أُبَيٍّ غَضَباً

ليس يَرضَى الحقُّ إن لم تَغضبِ

Fill yourself, O son of Ubayy, with anger

Truth is not pleased if you are not angry

أفما يُرضيكَ في الدُّنيا سِوَى

موقفِ الجاني ومثوى المُذنبِ

Is there nothing in this world that pleases you

Except standing with the sinner and dwelling of the guilty?

لو صدقتَ اللَّهَ في دينِ الهدى

فُزْتَ منه بالذمامِ الأقربِ

If you were true to God in the religion of guidance

You would win the nearest place to Him

خُطَّةُ المؤمنِ يُمْنٌ مَالَهُ

دُونَها من خُطَّةٍ أو مَركبِ

The path of the believer is a blessing, nothing else

Compares below it, no other path or vessel

لَكَ في الإسلامِ من أعدائِهِ

خُلُقُ الذئبِ وطَبعُ الثعلبِ

Within Islam you have from its enemies

The nature of the wolf and ways of the fox

هكذا قَدَّرَ ربّي وقَضَى

ما الخبيثُ النَّفسِ مثلُ الطّيبِ

Thus my Lord has ordained and decreed

The wicked soul is not like the good
