وَزيرَ الأَمنِ ماتَ الناسُ خَوفاً

وَضَجَّت مِصرُ حَولَكَ بِالشِكايَهْ

The Minister of Security has died, people have died of fear

And Egypt roared around you with complaints

رَوى زيدٌ وَحَدَّثَ عَنهُ عَمرٌو

فَما صَدَقَ الحَديثُ وَلا الرِوايَهْ

Zayd narrated and Amr talked about him

But neither the narration nor the story were true

بِرَبِّكَ ما الَّذي تُبدي وَتُخفي

وَهَل لِلأَمرِ عِندَكَ مِن نِهايَهْ

By your Lord, what do you reveal and conceal

And does the matter have an end to you

بِأَيَّةَ خُطَّةٍ وَبأَيِّ حِزبٍ

تُريدُ بِنا الإِساءَةَ وَالنِكايَهْ

With what plan and with what party

Do you want to harm us and take revenge

جَرَيتَ إِلى الوَراءِ بِلا عِنانٍ

فَماذا تَبتَغي وَلِأَيِّ غايَهْ

You raced backwards without restraint

So what do you seek and for what purpose

وَزيرَ الأَمنِ إِنَّ لِمِصرَ حَقّاً

وَإِنَّ الحُرَّ شيمَتُهُ الرِعايَهْ

Minister of Security, Egypt indeed has a right

And the free, his quality is caring

أَتَكرَهُ أَن تَسودَ وَأَن تَراها

بِمَنزِلَةِ الطَليقِ مِنَ الوِصايَهْ

Do you hate that it be prosperous and that you see it

In the position of the divorced from guardianship

أَتَخشى الذُلَّ وَيحَكَ في بَنيها

إذا رُفِعَت بِها لِلعِزِّ رايَهْ

Do you fear humiliation and it makes plans among its children

If the flag of honor was raised in it

دَعاكَ الناصِحونَ إِلى التَأَنّي

وَعَلَّمَكَ الصَوابَ أُولو الدِرايَهْ

The advisors called you to deliberation

And the people of knowledge taught you what is right

أَلا حَزمٌ مِنَ المَكروهِ واقٍ

فَإِنَّ الحَزمَ داعِيَةُ الوِقايَهْ

Beware of hateful caution

For caution invites protection

وَما في الأَرضِ أَسعَدُ مِن وَفِيٍّ

أَمينِ العَهدِ مَأمونِ الجِنايَهْ

And there is nothing in the world more fortunate than a loyal one

Trustworthy of the covenant, safe from crimes

يَرى الدُنيا بِعَينِ فَتىً كَريمٍ

كَبيرِ النَفسِ يوسِعُها زِرايَهْ

Who sees the world through the eye of a noble young man

Great of soul, expanded by leadership

وَيَعلَمُ أَنَّ وَعدَ اللَهِ حَقٌّ

وَأَنَّ لَهُ الحُكومَةَ وَالوِلايَهْ

And knows that the promise of God is true

And that He has the government and the rule

رَأَيتُ المَرءَ يَركَبُ كُلَّ صَعبٍ

وَيَطمَعُ أَن تُظَلِّلَهُ العِنايَهْ

I saw a man ride every hardship

And hopes that providence will shade him

أَظُنُّ القَومَ لا يَرجونَ أُخرى

وَلا يَخشَونَ عاقِبَةَ الغِوايَهْ

I think the people have no other hope

And do not fear the consequence of misguidance

وَلا يَرضونَ دينَ الحَقِّ ديناً

وَلَو جاءَ الهُداةُ بِكُلِّ آيَهْ

And do not accept the religion of truth as a religion

Even if the guides came with every sign

سَتَنشَقُّ الغَيابَةُ بَعدَ حينٍ

عَنِ المُثلى وَتَنجابُ العَمايَهْ

The darkness will disperse after a while

From the exemplar and blindness will clear

إِذا تابَ العُصاةُ عَنِ الخَطايا

فَحَسبُكَ أَن تَتوبَ عَنِ الحِمايَهْ

When the disobedient repent of sins

It is enough for you to repent of zeal
