الحق يعلو والصلاح يعمر
والزور يمحق والفساد يدمر
Truth prevails and righteousness prospers
While falsehood perishes and corruption destroys
والبغي مصرعه ذميم لم يزل
آتيه عرضة كل سوء يثبر
The oppressor's demise is disgraceful forever
Coming upon all evil that avenges
والوغد تبطره من النعم التي
يغنى بها الحرّ الكريم ويشكر
The wicked are struck down by blessings
That enrich the free and noble who thank
طغت الطغاة الروس لما غرَّهم
في الأرض كثر سوادهم وتجبروا
The Russian tyrants transgressed when deluded
By their numbers in the land and their arrogance
كادوا ويرجع كيدهم في نحرهم
فطُلاهم دون القواضب ينحر
Their scheme almost recoiled upon their necks
So their heights were cut down without mercy
المعتدون ولا نهى تنهاهم
الظالمون القاسطون الفجّر
The aggressors know no restraint or prohibition
The unjust tyrants, the debauched and corrupt
نقضوا العهود وكان ذلك دأبهم
لؤماً وللعدوان بغياً أضمروا
They broke covenants, as was their habit
Evilly scheming, harboring ill intent
حتى أرى بعض المآثر رأسُهم
بخس الحقوق وساء من يستأثر
Until I saw their chiefs laid low
Depriving rights and hoarding wealth
أيظن أن الدولة العليا السويد
وإنّه هو بطرس المتأخر
Do they think the mighty Swedish state
And their Peter the late, can succeed?
كلاّ ليرتدعنَّ ثم ليعلمنّ
أن ربَّها من يبتغيها يثأر
No! Let them be deterred, then know
Their Lord avenges those who seek Him
يا مسلمون تثبّتوا إن جاءكم
نبأ عن الروس العدى وتبصّروا
O Muslims, verify if news reaches you
About the hostile Russians, and beware
لا يغررنَّكم كثير جموعهم
فالحق ليس يضيره المستكثر
Let not their great numbers deceive you
For truth is not harmed by the multitude
يا مؤمنون هو الجهاد فبادروا
متطوعين إليه حتى تؤجروا
O believers! Jihaad, so hasten
Volunteering, that you may be rewarded
هذا جهاد الله يحمي عرضكم
فاسخوا عليه بكل علق يُدخر
This is God's jihaad protecting your honor
Expend every resource that is stored
في لَنْ تنالوا البر حتى تنفقوا
مّما تُحبون الدليل الأظهر
You will not attain righteousness unless you spend
From what you love - this proof is plain
وتمسكوا بالعروة الوثقى من ال
صبر الجميل على القتال وذمّروا
And hold fast to the firm rope of beautiful
Patience in battle - be resolute
يغنيكم التكبير والتهليل عن
أن تعملوا فيهم سلاحاً يبتر
Glorifying and praising God will suffice you
Over making weapons that maim
فالقوهم بهما كفاحاً تظفروا
وعليهم صولوا وطولوا وانفروا
Subdue them thus, and you will be victorious
Attack them, march on them, mobilize
واغزوهم بحراً وبراً واحشدوا
ركباً وفرسانا ونسرهم انسروا
Raid them on land and sea, amass forces
Horsemen and footmen, rout their camp
لو لم يكن منكم سوى نفر لما
غلبوا فكيف بكم وأنتم أكثر
If you were but a band, they would not
Vanquish you - how then, when you are more?
من كل فتاك إذا اعترضت له
يوماً شعوب ... يُدمر
Every warrior, if one day nations stand
Against him... will be destroyed
انتم عباد الله حقاً فاعبدوا
للدّين فهو بكم يعزّ ويجبر
You are truly God's servants, so worship
The religion - through you it is mighty
واحموا حقيقتكم فحفظ ذماركم
فرض عليكم ليس عنه تأخر
Protect your principles, for guarding your faith
Is incumbent, with no delay
غاروا على الإسلام حتى ترفعوا
أعلامه فلكم به أن تفخروا
Be zealous for Islam until you raise
Its banners - you have cause to be proud
لا تسمع الأجراس في أوطانكم
بدل النداء ولا ينجس منبر
Let not church bells in your lands replace
The call to prayer - keep the minbar pure
وليسمعن اليوم في أرجائكم
قرع القوانس بالظبى أو تخدروا
And ring the drums of war in your regions
More rousing than any minstrel's song
فلذاك أشجى من غناء مطرّب
بمسامع القوم الذين به ضروا
To those who have long oppressed them
Your swords should drip their blood
لكن يد الله القوية معكم
توليكم أيداً فلن تتقهقروا
If impurity and vileness have touched them
Waging war will rightly cleanse them
ما أن يقاويكم بهم من عسكر
لو أن ملء الأرض طراً عسكر
Patience is praised but when honor is
Violated, I see no cause to show restraint
قد قال في الذكر المفصل ربكم
حقاً علينا نصرهم فتذكروا
No good in life bought through humiliation
God forbid you fail or compromise
ما الله مخلف وعده لعباده
إن هم بعصمته اتقوا واستنصروا
God has witnessed He is your Master
And Helper - so praise Him and be bold
قد كان مولاكم وهاهو لم يزل
وزراً لكم أيّان كنتم يخفر
God has promised the mujaahid among you
Manifest victory in the Book - so rejoice
ولربما شرعوا الرماح عليكم
لكن على إنفاذها لن يقدروا
The martyrs will dwell in the best abode
Gardens of eternity, never to fade
لن يعمل البتّار إلا أن يشا
ءالله ما شيء سواه مؤثر
War with them is a trial - stand fast
Victory will follow your order - be glad
والنار منهم إن يُرد إطفاؤها
برد فلا تلظى ولا تتسعّر
Remember the people of Badr, that you
O people, may take heed and remember
وإذا يشاء يثلّ عرشهم فلن
يستقدموا عنه ولن يستأخروا
Sacrifice to please your Lord and gain
His pleasure - then none can you blame
غاروا على حرم مخدرة لكم
قد طالما أُحْصنَّ عمن يعهر
What contrast between one who volunteers
And one forced against his will to serve
أيقودهن اليوم علج فاجر
وسيوفكم بدمائهم لا تقطر
Led and driven by a vicious, grim tyrant
Who can sell him to slavers if so moved
ولئن يكن نجسا ورجساً مسها
فبخوضها قد حلّ أن تتطهروا
With his children and wife, without care
They know no honor preventing their vice
الصبر محمود ولكن حين تن
تهك المحارم لا أرى أن تصبروا
They greedily rush to sins, while people of
Virtue avoid even mentioning them
لا خير في عيش يقارف ذلّة
حاشاكم أن تفشلوا أو تدبروا
So too the tyrants, if you praise them at all
Will boast of any fame you confer
شهد الإله بأنه مولاكم
ونصيركم فبحمده فاستظهروا
They rejoice, but the joy of the blest is in
Thanking their Lord, not merely preferring
والله قد وعد المجاهد منكم
فتحاً مبيناً في الكتاب فأبشروا
Their vultures, though bloated, may yet
Be felled, and the crescent's light overwhelm
ويبوّئ الشهداء خير مبوّإِ
جنات عدن ملكها لا يغبر
The corrupt will never prosper in life
Nor the insolent thrive - they are doomed
الحرب بينكم سجال فاثبتوا
والنصر عقبى أمركم فاستبشروا
Have they not learned from those gone before
Who oppressed and were ruined, to their cost?
في أهل بدر عبرة لكم ألاَ
يا قوم فليتذكر المتذكر
Or do they think themselves beyond God's reach
To aid His people if they but asked?
أبْلُوا ليرضى ربكم عنكم فمن
أبلى فعند اللائمية يعذر
Or that He cannot send unseen armies
And appointed fates that confound and crush?
كم بين من يأتي القتال تطوعاً
ومسخر كرها عليه يجبر
If a piercing wind caught their heedless sails
No blaze could consume it, nor growth reverse it
يقتاده ويسوقه مولى له
فظ زنيم غاشم متغشمر
Or unleash devastating hordes of birds
To decimate them, leaving not one
ويبيعه لو شاء للنخاس مع
ولد له وبزوجه يتسرّر
God's true worshipers will never be conquered
By the heathen's "Thee alone we serve"
لا عرض يمنعهم ولا كرم لهم
يثنيهم في الناس عن أن يفجروا
Whose sole purpose is to please God
Is virtuous indeed, and rightly guided
يتترعون إلى الفواحش حيث مع
أهل المحامد فاتهم أن يذكروا
Who stops not his ears to his guardian's counsel
Embraces misguidance - warnings do not benefit
وكذا الطغَّام إذا عدتهم مدحة
ودّوا بأية شهرة أن يشهروا
Whose blessings from his Lord made him
Arrogant and bold, betraying and cheating
سعدوا ولكن ربَّ سعد ذابح
للفائزين به إذا لم يشكروا
Who is not content with his allotted rizq
Then grasping for more, is ever in loss
ولعل نسرهم المدوم واقع
فمن الهلال علاه ضوء يبهر
Who foolishly relies on armies, not God
Earns what he fears and what he dreads
لن يفلح العاثون ما عاشوا ولا ال
عاتون ما رغدوا ولن يتيسروا
Who thinks his might and weapons avail
Him and his tribes - he is deluded
أو لم يعوا ما جاءهم عمن طغى
من قبلهم بطراً وأنى دُمروا
Who fights the Omnipotent returns humbled,
Vanquished - each despot will be abased
أم يعجزون الله إذ يملي لهم
عن أن يغار لقومه أن ينصروا
Who takes pride in his unbelief one day
Will face the greatest torment the next
أو أن يمدهم بجند لا ترى
وبمنشئات مُخَّرٍ لا تبحر
Who coveted immediate gain over the eternal
Was ruined by his preference of the lower
لو أن تخرمهم وهم مرحون في
أمن رخيو البال ريح صرصر
Whose rule among mankind is Abdulmejid
He is truly the victor and triumphant
أو يرسل الطير الأبابيل التي
قد أهلكت أمثالهم لا كُثِّروا
Our supreme Sultan whom our days are blessed by
And our eras graced, we would shed blood for him
ما كان عبّاد البعيم ليغلبوا
قوما على "إيّاك نعبد" تحشر
His vast charities have fully encompassed
Our needs, and more than we could contemplate
من كان يُرضي الله خالص سعيه
في الناس فهو بكل خير يجدر
Our thoughts are engaged by his proposals
While he remains noble, not tiring of us
من لم يصخ أذناً لنصح وليّه
ركب الضلال ولم يُفده المنذر
The tongue of the mute is compelled to praise you
Until the inanimate nearly speak of you
من أبطرته نعمة المولى عتا
عسفاً وغشمرة يَمِينُ ويغدر
Your glory has illuminated the cosmos
Equally to the sighted and the blind
من لم تكن تغنيه قسمة رزقه
فإذا اشرأب إلى الزيادة يخسر
The tyrants gaze on you with envious eyes
So they taste bitterness and regret
من يتكل سفها على جند له
دون الإله يحق به ما يحذر
If they plot, God's plotting is far greater
If they attack, His troops have no match
من ظن أن يقوى بقوة بأسه
وسلاحه وذويه فهو مغرَّر
Among the impossible, if it happens
Against its nature and ordained fate
من غالب القهار عاد مخشيا
مستضعفاً وكلا يُذل ويقهر
Their masses are only mirages
Not real, while the sun is not veiled by mist
من سرَّه في يومه كفرانه
وافاه في غده العذاب الأكبر
None beyond your throne have distinction
As long as the Criterion remains unchanging
من كان يوماً راغباً في عاجل
عن آجل أودي به ما يؤثر
You who are praised dispel our sorrows
Our horizons are fragrant and sweet
من كان من بين الورى سلطانه
عبد المجيد فإنه لمظفر
Our fanciful dreams come true tomorrow
Though today is bitter and dire
سلطاننا الأسمى الذي سعدت به
أيامنا وزهت فدته الأعصر
No string of pearls in praise can match
The gifts your hand freely broadcasts
نشر العدالة في البلاد فكلنا
مستأمن في ظله مستبشر
No articulate being remains
Who does not tell of your abounding gifts
ولكلّ جيل في ممالكه يد
منه وآلاء تعمّ وتغمر
May God guard your noble personage
And your servants remain under His protection
ما أن عداهم عدله وأمانه
سيان هم إن أعسروا أو أيسروا
And prolong your supreme rule as long as
Stars twinkle and your generosity flows
إنا إذا أتخذ العدى طاغوتهم
ربَّاً لنأتمر الذي هو يأمر
I have composed two chronograms in verse
Capping my eulogy - my greatest fortune
لسنا نروم بغير طاعته إلى ال
رحمن من زلفى ولا نتخير
Abdulmejid, God debase his foes
Our Sultan in truth triumphs and aids
كلاّ ولا في غير خدمتنا له
عرض وإخلاص لنا وتبرّر
كفر المبايع غيره والمعتدى
بغياً وطغياناً عليه أكفر
من ذا يحاكيه عُلىً ومناقبا
ومن الذي فَضْلى حلاه ينكر
لو أنه اقترح الوجود تحكماً
ما زاد فيها غير ما نتنظر
من جوهر الإخلاص صوّر ذاته
رب قدير كيف شاء يصور
ولاه أمر الدين والدنيا معاً
فهو الإمام الحاكم المتأمر
وهو الذي بين الملوك مقامه ال
أعلى يكرم هيبة ويوقر
وهو الذي بين العباد محبب
ومعظم ومبجل ومعزر
يستدفعون الضر فيهم باسمه
وعلى المنابر حمده المتكرّر
إن قال لم يستثن مما قاله
أحد وإن يفعله فهو مخيَّر
ليس الفرنج مشايعي أعدائه
ما هم لهم حزب ولاهم معشر
أفمن يكون على هدى من ربه
كغوي استهواه جبت منكر
أم من له الخلق الكريم يقاس بال
نكد اللئيم جبلة وينظَّر
أم يستوي في العرف والإمكان من
يهب الجزيل ومن يشح ويضمر
أيه أمير المؤمنين ومن دعا
أيه أمير المؤمنين فقد سرُوا
سد بالمعالي فائقاً كل الورى
مجدا وشانئك البغيض الأبتر
وسعت عوارفك العميمة سؤلنا ال
أقصى وما بالبال منا يخطر
حتى لقد كلّت خواطرنا بما
اقترحت وأنت منفّل لا تضجر
نطق العيي بفرض مدحك مفصحاً
حتى الجماد يكاد عنه يعبرّ
ولقد أضاء الكون مجدك كله
حتى استوى في العمي والمبصر
نظر الطغاة إليك نظرة حاسد
فتجرعوا مضضاً بها وتحسروا
إن يجلبوا فالله ما حق جيشهم
أو يمكروا فالمكر ربك أكبر
إن المحال من المحال إذا جرى
بخلاف طيّته وحق مقدر
ما كان جمعهم سوى كسف هبت
والشمس ليست بالهباء تستر
ليست فروق لغير عرشك وهي ما
بقيت على الفرقان ليست تقفر
أنت الذي بمديح وصفك تنجلي
عنا الهموم وأفقنا يتعطر
وتصحّ أحلام الأماني في غد ال
لاّهي بها والدهر أنكد أعسر
ما إن يفي نظم اللآلئ مدحة
لك باللهى من سحب كفك تنثر
لم يبق ما بين الورى من ناطق
إلاّ وعن آلاء فضلك يخبر
حرس الإله جنابك الأعلى ولا
زالت عبادك في حماه تخفر
وأدام دولتك العلية ما سرى
نجم وما زخرت كجودك أبحر
أنشدت تاريخين هجريّين في
ختمي مديحك وهو حظي الأوفر
