أرى غاية اللذات قبل ابتدائها

فمن أجل هذا لست أنعم في الدنيا

I see the height of pleasures before they start

So for this reason I do not delight in life

فإن هي إلا للذي طاش فكره

فلا يرهب العقبى ولا يرقب الثنيا

For it is but for one whose mind has gone astray

Who neither dreads what comes after nor awaits return
