أجمال مدحك لا أرضى به وإذا

فصلت أخشى قصورا ليس يرضيكا

The beauty of praising you doesn't satisfy me,

Yet if I elaborate, I fear falling short of what gratifies you.

فإنما هو راح لست آمن من

إكثاره نشوة تنسى معاليكا

It is but a passing breeze, I'm not safe from

Its excess overwhelming your sublime essence.

أنت الخصم لعلم لا مرآء به

فكنه للحلم وامنحني تغاضيكا

You are the peerless epitome of knowledge,

So overlook my inadequate attempt to fathom your depths.
