يا بَخيل المُقلَتَينِ
هاكَ ما تسفح عَيني
O stingy of the two eyelids

اللُقا بِالروَضَتين

وَعَلى دَمعِيَ أَن يُنسيك
نَوء المرزمين
The bending of the two spearheads
O shadows of the two sand dunes
يا ظلال الدَوحَتين
في رِياض النيربين
In the meadows of An-Nairb
He separated us in spite of me
فَرّق البين بِرَغمي
بين مَن أَهوى وَبَيني
Between whom I love and me
How much did we gather in you of intimacy
كَم جَمَعنا فيكَ لِلأُنس
اِجتِماع الفَرقَدين
The gathering of the two eyelids
And the one I love made me drink
وَسَقاني الراح مَن أَهوى
بِكِلتا الراحَتين
With both palms
Whenever my eyes see
كُلَما أَبصَر طَرفي
بَعدَهُ أَسخن عَيني
His distance, my eyes grow hotter
Its separation makes me cry with the crying
خِلتَهُ يَبكي لِمبكا
يَ بِدَمع المُقلَتين
Of the tear of the two eyelids
When the reflection of my tear appeared
أَذ بَدا لي عَكس دَمعي
في صَفاءِ العارِضين
In the clarity of the two eyelids
He threw me in the depths of love
زجَ بي في لَجج الحُب
أَزج الحاجبين
Most twisted of the two eyebrows
And his two eyelids
وَعَدتَني مُقلتاهُ
مِنهُ إِحدى الحَسنيين
Promised me one of the two beauties
That it heals the agony of passion
أَنَّها تَشفي غَليل الوَجد
أَو تَجلب حيني
Or brings my time closer
I hope for the tenderness of a heart
فَرجي لِوَرق لي قَلب
رَقيق الوَجنَتين
Delicate of the two cheeks

أَنَّهُ يَسمَح لي مِنهُ
بِإِحدى مَنيتين
One of two wishes
A kiss on the cheek or a sip
قَبلة في الخَد أَو رَشف
رِضاب الشَفَتين
