I think that if ruin understood him

Ruin would have spared the remains of his beautiful face

O his death! You left no elegance or refinement

That you did not decree to the grave and shroud

His glances belong to God and death shatters them

As if his eyelids were drunk with intimacy

It makes him reluctantly exhale his breath

The hand of death fondles it like the breeze does a branch

O what horror my eyes have seen and my ears heard

So there remained neither my eyes nor my ears

No part of my body remained that I knew

Except that a part of grief had dissolved it

Joining him was more fitting and better for me

Than to live with a languid soul and body
