صَدَّ وَما اِحتَسَبَ الصَدّا

لَم يَحفَظِ الميثاقَ وَالعَهدا

He rejected me, yet I did not expect rejection

He did not keep the covenant and pact

وَلا رَعى وُدّي وَلا حُرمَتي

وَلَم أَزَل أَرعى لَهُ الوُدّا

He did not heed my love or respect my sanctity

Yet I never ceased to nurture tenderness for him

يا قاتِلاً ظُلماً بِسَيفِ الهَوى

إِذ صِرتُ عَبداً فَاِرحَمِ العَبدا

O you who unjustly killed me by the sword of passion

Since I have become your slave, have mercy on your slave

قَد وَالَّذي عَذَّبَ قَلبي بِكُم

قاسَيتُ مُذ فارَقتَني جَهدا

By the One who has tormented my heart with you

I have endured immense hardship since you left me
