O Muqran, son of the daughters of foreign infidels,
and offspring of the Jews—the vilest of mankind!
You have become an object lesson among all humanity:
you came to ride pacing steeds after cattle,
and in exchange for the mattock were given a mettlesome mount
on which your whip leaves not the slightest mark.
He trails robes of silk, while an old man of his
at Nahr al-Mubarak cannot even cover himself.
So tell Muqran: Why linger here,
when this harvest of yours has now come in?
Sell the sword, then get yourself a new sickle;
exchange your whip for a spade, and go
to the Fire, beyond the protection of God.
Falter! May God drown you, you who plunge downward!
