O wife of the poor Miqran, who is no more

She became too great for visitors, and her virtues passed away

The graves have been emptied of a gazelle I knew

Though it is said her privacy was blissful

She left behind a number of orphans for the poor man

    Like chicks whose mothers died

If only he had secured his home or house

His sons and daughters around him would be few

When the floods keep coming back to the lands

Their fields are submerged by their plants

Drowsy when visited by his brothers

Awake when visited by her sisters

Her affairs carried out on him their matters

That we almost thought that he was her subordinate
