لِيَ لا كانَ مِن هَواكَ خَلاصُ

وَبِجِسمي وَلا بِكَ الإِنتِقاصُ

For me there was no escape from your love,

Nor for my body was there any deficiency from you.

دونَكَ السوءَ بي وَهَذا فُؤادي

فَأَذِبهُ كَما يُذابُ الرَصاصُ

Apart from you, evil is in me and this is my heart,

So melt it just as lead is melted.

لِمَ أَعرَضتَ إِذ تَقَنَّصتُ لَحظاً

مِنكَ سِرّاً وَأَنتَ لي قَنّاصُ

Why did you turn away when for a moment

I took a glance at you secretly while you were my hunter?

هاكَ فَاِقتَصَّ مِن هَواكَ فإِنَّ

السِنَّ بِالسِنِ وَالجُروحُ قِصاصُ

A tooth for a tooth, and wounds require retribution.
