Oh, say to Ismail: You are destined to drink

From the cup of the sons of Mahan—an inevitable blow.

Do you fatten the sons of the Outcast and his clan,

By starving the family of God, the lineage of Hashim?

And if the Ja'di is mentioned, you shed a tear,

And say: "May God grant triumph over every tyrant!"

You tell whomever you meet that you are fasting,

Yet slip into a hole to break it, fasting not at all.

So if Ismail creeps along in his debaucheries,

The Commander of the Faithful is surely not asleep.
