I thrilled to debauchery alongside wine,
And left the critics alone with their blame.
None speaks to me but a drinking companion,
And the saddle of my mount is the hips of a lad.
With shapely buttocks, possessed of effeminacy,
In the sockets of his eyes are the marvels of languor.
He turns his face away in haughtiness whenever
He sees my obsession, withholding even a greeting.
I captured him, my hand having seized him,
Saying, in amazement, the words of a desperate lover:
"I summoned you willingly, but you turned away from me,
So now you are with me, brought to humiliation."
He spoke, rousing himself amidst his distress:
"Then take it—but only once every year."
