إِنّي وَذِكري مِن حُسنٍ مَحاسِنَها
مِثلُ الَّذي قالَ ما أَحلاكَ يا عَسَلُ
My mention of Husn and her beauties,
Is like one saying, "How sweet you are, O honey!"
أُحَدِّثُ الناسَ أَنّي قَد وَقَعتُ لَهُم
مِن وَجهِ حُسنٍ عَلى الأَمرِ الَّذي جَهِلوا
I tell the people that I have uncovered for their sake,
From Husn's face, the very matter of which they were ignorant.
قَدِ اِكتَفى الناسُ مِن عِلمي بِعِلمِهِمُ
فَالرَدُّ مِنّي عَلَيهِم عِلمُهُم نَقَلُ
People have satisfied themselves with their own knowledge over mine,
Yet my reply to them is that their knowledge is mere hearsay.
