With my soul he torments me, his love
I ransom my soul for the one whose love is my torture,
Thus is it, and I have no hope but him
For thus it is, and I have no hope but in him.
He wanders among the servants with a beautiful face
He walks proud among men with the beauty of his face,
And hair that flows long over his nape
And hair allowed to lengthen down his nape,
And temples that my prince arranges
And temple-locks that my prince arranges with care
Over a cheek that glitters and its moles
Upon a cheek whose contours radiantly shimmer.
God created him of gold and pearls
God fashioned him from pure gold and pearls,
And perfected his creation when He created him
And made beautiful his nature when He gave him form.
So when He destined him a well-proportioned man
So when He designed him as a flawless human,
He made the houris of Paradise envy him
He modeled the Houris of Paradise upon his pattern.
