1. أَأَشرَسُ إِن يَكُن ما قيلَ حَقّاً

    وَأَحرِ بِهِ فَقَد ظَفِرَت يَداكا

    O Ashras, if the tales they tell are true—

    And fitting it is, for your hands have won their aim—

  2. أَبَحتَ مِنِ اِبنِ أُختِكَ غَيرَ حِلٍّ

    وَقُلتَ عَهِدتُ أَشياخي كَذاكا

    You violated your nephew with unlawful acts,

    Proclaiming, 'I found my elders did the same.'

  3. فَما نِلتَ اِبنَ أُختِكَ قَطُّ حَتّى

    بَدَأتَ بِأُمِّهِ مِن قَبلِ ذاكا

    Yet you never would have reached your sister's son,

    Had you not started with his mother long before.
