قولا لِهارونَ إِمامِ الهُدى

عِندَ احتِفالِ المَجلِسِ الحاشِدِ

Say to Harun, the Imam of Guidance,

Amidst the celebration of the crowded court:

نَصيحَةُ الفَضلِ وَإِشفاقُهُ

أَخلى لَهُ وَجهَكَ مِن حاسِدِ

The counsel of al-Fadl and his solicitude

Have cleared your presence of every envier,

بِصادِقِ الطاعَةِ دَيّانِها

وَواحِدِ الغائِبِ وَالشاهِدِ

With sincere obedience, devoutly observed,

Unchanging in absence and in presence.

أَنتَ عَلى ما بِكَ مِن قُدرَةٍ

فَلَستَ مِثلَ الفَضلِ بِالواجِدِ

You, despite all the power that is yours,

Shall never find another like al-Fadl.

أَوجَدَهُ اللَهُ فَما مِثلُهُ

لِطالِبٍ ذاكَ وَلا ناشِدِ

God brought him into being; there is none like him

For any seeker or searcher to discover.

وَلَيسَ اللَهِ بِمُستَنكِرٍ

أَن يَجمَعَ العالَمَ في واحِدِ

And it is not impossible for God

To gather the whole world in a single one.
