The camels bowed to the beauty of your face
Beauty bowed down before the splendor of your
And found rest in your beauty
face, and found its rest within your beauty.
The maidens of Paradise yearned
And the Houris of the Gardens have yearned
To leave eternity for your ideal
since eternity to behold your likeness.
So I fell in love when I saw you
So I loved your face the moment I saw
And depended on our union
you, and I relied upon your union.
O you who wrong me, the lover
O my tyrant, the lover is surely not,
Is not, even if he endures, one of your men
for all his patience, one of your men.
